Cov Promotion - A new perspective on an old topic

I don’t think it’s wise to assume you are miles ahead of them. You’ve had a decent season but the argument could easily be made that you guys
1. were the surprise package
2. Had momentum and the tailwind of a entire city behind you
3. Had a relatively generous opening fixture list
4. Overperformed against key metrics (if you believe in the data scientists that are running the game)

I say all this not to be a twat but just to excercise some caution. We came up under Bielsa and did brilliantly in our first season but soon fell away in 2&3. Of course we bought badly or underinvested at critical times and you seem to have a sensible owner and top DoF

It may not happen (and I actually hope it doesn’t) but 2nd season syndrome is a thing and we should both therefore look to avoid any complacency
Mag easy fixchas klaxon 🚨🚨

Having suffered such a huge injustice, in losing the play off semi finals against us, having 'clearly' been the better team against us, in both legs of the semi final play off (despite us scoring more goals over two legs, and having more efforts on target, over two legs) has obviously galvanised & inspired (It's all about) Frank Lampard FC, to do better, this season.

Congratulations to Frank & his hugely inflated ego.

Yes I know im hanging onto old memories like a numpty and should grow up but I suffered my first away game at Goodison that fateful night when Jimmy fiddled us..dont like that smug Lampard either, I hope the tw4ts self combust.
This.

I will forever hate the cheating bastards - not only our Everton result/their Bristol City 'draw' - matches which clearly should have been replayed - but their result at Spurs and our loss to Wimbledon at Selhurst Park a few seasons later, when (again) their kick off was delayed by 15 minutes because of an accident on the M1 delayed their fans arrival to White Hart Lane - how the f**k did they think we all got to Selhurst Park, on a fu**ing magic carpet?!

Horrible fans, horrible club, horrible history - let's hope they beat Derby's record low points total.

Yes I know, let it go, it was a long time ago, no room for being bitter and twisted...but I am.

‘Had generous opening fixture list’ everyone plays each other, clown

They've got a lot of work to do in the summer to be competitive. It's such a big step up.
Let's not be making the same mistake with the new teams that everyone made with us.

Us and Leeds have shown that proper planning and shrewd spending can make the promoted sides competitive and I reckon Coventry will have a good crack at it next year.

Plenty of time to sort their shit out too given how early in the season they've managed it.

Do they have the spending power we do ? Have they any assets to sell like we did (Jobe and Watson) ? Do they have the quality Leeds have?

Oh fuck off man, the way you go on you think Leeds are some football powerhouse.

They have followed the Sunderland model. Get promoted without spending huge sums on championship players who are no good in the Prem

The question is whether the board will take advantage of that they way KLD did, and whether their scouting networks are good enough to spend money wisely

I live near Cov and know a fair few of their fans who are sound, but I really dislike the club and hope we hammer them next season home and away as they make their way back down to the Football League where they belong.

Given who they’ve signed this year, I personally think the answer to your last question is no.

They’ve spent £70m in 3 years.
