Europe.. last 5 seasons.. the numbers.

Papa Johns seem harsh. It’s more like the Carabao Cup of Europe.

I’d still love to be in it. Like anyone else under 60, I’ve never seen us play in Europe and as recently as a few years ago didn’t think it would ever happen.

Bottom 3 last season got a grand total of 59 points from 114 games.

Bottom 3 the year before got 66 from 114.

This season the bottom 3 have already got 67 points from 96 games.

Last two seasons have been especially poor. Usually the combined total is at least mid 70’s and often higher. It’s been as high as 111.

I think plenty on here will disagree, including me. After attending the World Cup in France in 1998 (plus 4 World Cups and 3 Euros since) I've dreamed of following SAFC in Europe. 🤞🤞

That's fair enough but teams like Hamrun Spartans of Malta (with a ground capacity of 2000) and Shamrock Rovers compete in the conference league. Getting into Europe is one thing but I just think the conference league is pointless. Just my opinion.
 
It feels very strange looking up rather than down and with only 6 games to go so why not give it everything and see where it takes us. Whatever happens happens and it has been a fantastic season.

Aw billhooks. I’ve just gone through the remaining fixtures and we finish 10th in my predictions with 53 points. Level on points and GD with Fulham. But below them on goals scored. 😢
 
Champ league is already down to 5 places and that’s if an English club doesn’t win it. The echo day a decent dreamland scenario a few weeks back that showed the potential of the European spots going down as far as 11th if everything went a certain way.
