Europe.. last 5 seasons.. the numbers.

It's in our hands. 6 games left, 18 points available.

That gives us 64.

Just win every game and get it. Simples.

Also 8th place will probably get your Europe this year, and 9th might, so looking at 7th isn't the full picture.
Just looked at the table and not winning five of em is a sacking offence.

Man U Chelsea Liverpool and Aston Villa have to play each other in various permutations so will drop points regardless. Aston Villa also play Man City away.

Man U Chelsea and Villa have to play us. It wouldn't take a radical miraculous change in fortunes to be amongst it on the last day. However, I'm not holding my breath
We ain't catching Man U, Villa and Liverpool.

But I like the optimism your aiming for the CL and think we can win all 6

We're competing for whatever ends up being the EL and Conference spots.

Which fingers crossed City win the FA Cup and it's a fight for 6th to 8th places.

Will probably be a lower total this year as the three bottom teams will have higher points totals than normal.
Add to this that at this stage of the season in the last 5 years the average points haul in 7th place is 52 or 53 points. Currently Brentford, in 7th, have 47points. So they are running roughly 6 points behind the going rate for that 7th place.

This means 54, 55 points should do it. Three wins...might get us there and if Man City win the FA Cup it will go down to 8th. We've got every chance here. Get a draw at Villa and we're still in with a shout. Get a win and we gonna make it.

digging slightly deeper.. after 32 games last season the 7th place team already had 54 points.. this season 7th place Brentford are only on 47. So yes, we’re likely looking at a much lower points total this season.
Was just gonna say this. I think that points have been more evenly shared about this season than is usual. Apart from the bottom five or six, anybody is capable of beating anybody, this season. I think that 56/57 will be enough. We're capable of that.
See ahat happens knowing our luck if we did make it we will get a group with shamrock rovers, falkirk and some random welsh team
I'll take that, all day long.

Other than Forest, pretty much everyone else we play doesn't have a huge amount to play for. Chelsea and Everton may be driven for Europe, but by that point they may have it sewn up or not.

We need to capitalise on the potential on the beachnedness of these games

If City or Chelsea win the FA Cup, the League position to qualify for the Conference League is 8th.

If Leeds win the FA Cup, it's 7th.

In the unlikely scenario that Villa win the Europa League and finish 5th (not top 4), then 6th place is a Champions League spot but England lose a Europa League spot to compensate that.

We're currently 2 points off 6th and 1 point off 7th.

We also have Everton and Chelsea to play in our last 2 games of the season.

If we win those last 2 games, beat Villa this weekend and take 4 points from Wolves and Forest, we'd probably secure 6th. 4 wins and a draw from our last 6 seems a stretch.

3 wins and a draw (without losing to Everton) would very likely get us a top 8 finish. So wins against Forest, Wolves and Everton with a draw against either Villa, Man United or Chelsea as well.

Still a big ask but not that unrealistic.

Not sure I comprehend your thought process. You are 10th. How is it in your hands?
Won’t need close to previous points totals this season either.
Ten points might do it imo. Forest and Wolves are the two to win to set up a big finish to the season. A draw at Villa would be a great start to the run in.
Agreed. High 50’s should be enough this year.

If we won every game until the end of the season, we would be guaranteed to finish above Everton and Chelsea because we have them to play in the run in.

Not a likely scenario mind, but technically in our hands.

Would be great if it is like the Preston game a few years ago, we are outside the euro zone for most of the final game, then a few goals go in and we end up pinching that European spot 😄

Would tip a few mags over the edge like!
