Wrestling - Part 3

Both me and our lass have been huge wrestling nerds for decades now and genuinely love it but both of us are so out of love with the current product and this WM season has been as underwhelming as we've ever had. I don't think even both nights being stellar can make up for the lack of build and emotional investment in any of the matches.

Like I've said I've been watching for nigh on 40 years and I've seen some absolute shit in that time. Vince McMahon absolutely lost the plot around 08 and it gradually got worse. Picked up when Triple H first took over the creative but since WM 40 fuck me has it tanked again.

Not sure what the event is going on tonight but why on gods green earth is Cody strutting about like a character from a movie he is playing? That barnet is something else ffs :lol:

Is it not the Street Fighter film launch? He plays Guile. Not much else he could do if it's that like

I started taking an interest again when it moved to Netflix, but mainly catch up on Instagram. Loved it when I was a kid(attitude era).

I honestly think it flits about too much now, storylines have little build up and there’s too many celebs taking part.

Also the supposed biggest star in Reigns hardly ever shows up. He’ll inevitably beat Punk and rock up once a month sticking his finger in the air.
 
I'd imagine Netflix is probably part of the issue. Didn't they pay like a billion and a half for rights. They won't give two fucks if the product is awful as long as it generates streams so probably them asking for as much celebrity bullshit as possible.

I take it you missed from 2014-18 when Roman was jammed down everyone's throats? I'm glad he only pops up every now and again. Best use of him

Would they launch the film where he comes out to his wrestling music, carrying his wrestling title and walks to a wrestling ring?

Reigns come out afterwards looking as though he was dressed ‘normal’…

Can’t find the link but reigns was certainly not acting as his film character

He has a connection with the AEW fans and has a weird charisma tbh. Just the way they've put the belt on him is fairly shite. Makes MJF look bad aswell. Booker of the year though.
