Calvert-Lewin (discussion on transfer)

Brobbey is 5 years younger and doesn't have the same injury problems either.

Calvert lewin is 8th too goalscorer in the League despite playing in one of the worst teams.

I love brobbey but if we had that we'd be 3 positions higher I reckon.
Sign both and we could even be top 6.

Lack of goals has been our huge handicap this season

He’s got 10 goals, a decent return. 2 penalties. Roughly a goal every 2.5 games minutes wise, Brobbey has six and scores every 2.7 games but doesn’t take penna’s. We got the better deal.

Threads like these are almost pointless. If we'd have signed DCL he would have spent 90% of the season injured.

I wasn’t a fan when we got him. Thought it was a terrible signing tbh. Putting the goals aside he is just a constant handful for any defence. His touch is not as good as say Chris Woods but he also has that experience you need in your first season back in the PL

Doesnt really work like that though, and we only play one upfront. Calvert-Lewin has had way more chances and shots than Brobbey because the teams approaches are different. Brobbey scores 25% of his shots, Calvert-Lewin 13%. CL has 62 shots away, to Brobbeys 26 and also played 800 mins more this season.
One thing is for certain is DCL has looked much closer to his best again this season, and a huge step up from the last few

Was a great buy for Leeds. Probably the reason they'll stay up.
Because we couldn't match the offer.

It sounds like he wanted to join the more ambitious project.
He has more Premier League goals than our entire squad combined. Would have loved him here.
They've signed some decent players with Premier League experience. We shouldn't be looking down our noses really.
Yes much difference to the spin our put out in an attempt to bridge the quality gap.
Back down to earth with a bang today unfortunately. Everyone looked poor and we looked like a team full of strangers. Xhaka's performance was worrying.

It's going to be a long old season.
Burnley who won a 100 points last season? Leeds who dominated the league?

There was a huge gulf between us and them last season. I think people are going to be in for a shock.
We were slumming it in League 1 not too long ago and I don't think anyone at the club expected promotion last season. We've lost 2 very influential players from last season too.

I'd be pleasantly surprised but I can't see it. Burnley and Leeds have stronger foundations.

Weird that staunch Sunderland fan @Lucas, who joined this forum after Leeds bought Calvert Lewin and only ever posted about how much better Leeds would do than Sunderland and how much better their business was, hasn't been on here since October. You would think such an obvious died in the wool Sunderland fan would have opinions to share with his fellow fans about our success this season.

If we had signed him, and he had picked up an injury, this place would've been littered with people going mad we invested a massive portion of our wage budget in an injury prone player who hasnt been consistent for years. As he has had a good season and stayed fit, its the other way around. He was a big risk and it has paid off for Leeds, but he suits their style of play as they are always trying to get in behind and cross. We dont play that same way and i dont think he wouldve outscored Brobbey in this setup. But its all about opinions

All of that aside, resale values of himself and brobbey are lightyears apart

I honestly wouldn't dare sign up to a rival forum pretending to be a fan of their club. Awful behaviour.

Impossible to know. They might have signed an alternative target who scored 20, or another who scored 2.

One thing is for sure mind. You can't blame any club from running a mile from this injury record:

Only really two bad seasons in fairness. Two not great but not bad either but five that are good in terms of games missed.
