Sorry, but what a load of‘ you don't develop distribution skills much more at his age’
Roefs was 22 when he made his Sunderland debut. First time I saw him you could see how much confidence the back line had in him. Roefs was clearly ready for first team footy.Give the lad time ffs, he’s still learning
Absolutely.
Anyway the problem with port Vale is that we couldn’t score a goal not that we conceded one!
Giving him say 20 games could be a masterstroke or wreck our season.Roefs was 22 when he made his Sunderland debut. First time I saw him you could see how much confidence the back line had in him. Roefs was clearly ready for first team footy.
Not saying Mellborg won't develop into a first class keeper but, IMO, he isn't ready to be a first choice Premiership keeper.
Young? He’d be better served by having a full season as number 1 in the ChampoSigned a new contract and been told he’ll be #2 new year.
Including one of the biggest in our seasonThis, the fella's played 4 first team games and 22 years old, for God's sake.
This.. it’s about whether the lad can adjust to the pace.I’d slightly disagree I think he has the basis of decent distribution, he can control it and his kicking isn’t too bad. Question for me is can he do it at the pace/speed required, at this level.
Roefs is a bit of a freak in that he has adapted so well and in terms of Pickford we are comparing him to possibly englands best ever keeper
That said if roefs left do I think Ellborg is ready now, no I don’t, but I don’t think the club would leave us with him as 1st choice and I also think he has potential to develop
How? He's played 3 games and done ok. 2 of them at the hardest places we'll visitHe’s nowhere near ready for premier league footy like. Hopefully Roefs is back in on. Sunday
He will cost us a lot of goals if he is our number 1 next season
And with a makeshift defence.Started three Premier League games, won two, conceded two, made some cracking saves, couple of dodgy long kicks, but didn't capitulate at Elland Road or St Brian Brobbey Park.
He's fine, man. But aye, might as well write him off.
That’s a ridiculous statement that mindHe’s nowhere near ready for premier league footy like.

It was class…cool as a cucumberVery promising young keeper. Future first choice.
Loved his header over the bar from 09.
I kind of see the OP’s point but it’s hard to take it seriously when he can’t be arsed to proofread his work.Back up for me. I know he's young but you don't develop distribution skills much more at his age in my opinion
e.g. Pickford was better in that regard at 17.
Would be lovely if he does develop into a PL 1st teamer, but I don't see it. If Roefs goes, we need better in.
