Is David Young the unused sub from 1973? He didn’t even play many games for us.

Aye good call, the G-ForceMany lads hero of my age growing up watching him
Both great but not really Sunderland legends. Both left to make a name for themselves. It's why the likes of Super Kev didn't make my 14.Jill Scott & Steph Houghton i added to my 14
They are both geordies anyway aren't they, and just cos Scott flew solo round the world doesnt mak her a Sunlun leg end. Both great but not really Sunderland legends. Both left to make a name for themselves. It's why the likes of Super Kev didn't make my 14.
4 seasons wasn’t it? Pivotal in everyone. I wouldn’t have voted but agree he should have been on list. However you can’t compare him to say Gary Bennett who ticked absolutely every conceivable box.
Read your question again.Which of the none league or Cup winners on that list are you saying are relative failures? Why do you consider them failures?
It linked from the Legends Way web page, I just shared the direct link to make it easier to get to.Is this legit or a way of getting folks names and e mails?..Cannot see any link on club website?
Given Bob Murray is on the list, I guess players' off the field contribution has been taken into account too. For that reason I think Bennett and Quinn makes my cut.Gabbiadini is my all time favourite Sunderland player.
And I guarantee 1000’s of other supporters would say the same. (They’ll currently be aged somewhere between 45 - 55)
Whilst Bennett definitely deserves to be there. I’d also bet he won’t be 1000’s of fans favourite all time player.
Nor many others on the list.
I think you’re forgetting/underestimating just how adored Marco was in his time here.

They will for political correctioness. Can't imagine many people picking them over the men players.Filled out mine, cheers.
Bit odd there’s no Jermain Defoe there for two reasons: 1) That goal against the mags and 2) The bond he made with Bradley Lowery
No issue with the lasses being there personally. Have a feeling either Jill Scott or Steph Houghton are going to make the final cut.
Michael Gray? Someone definitely gone fishing with that one.
One of the most unlikeable blokes to ever play for us.

Don't even know if you're being serious here, like. They are both geordies anyway aren't they, and just cos Scott flew solo round the world doesnt mak her a Sunlun leg end.
I knar there’s a heavy amount of recency bias here, but can we not nut Luke O’Nein on the list?Just posted this in the Legend's Way thread but maybe deserves its own:
They are asking us to vote on the 14 legends to be represented along the line:You must be logged on to see external links
Opportunity to recognise older legends from our real golden eras before our lifetimes IMO.
Shortlist (though there is an opportunity to nominate others once you have submitted):

@mods please merge the two threads on this
John Kay was my suggestion for additional choices but Julio is a glaring omission too. This thread made me go look at the all time records for appearances for our players...lots of these legends didn't play that many games for us, some under 70.
Anyway, I'd add Marco and John Kay to the list, both iconic players at the time.
Julia Arca would be another I'd consider
