World Cup

they could make it massively exciting by doing two things:

have the next available one in the UK, using all of our current class proper football grounds in proper football towns, where all of the infrastructure already exists.

and cut it back down to 32 teams.

it would be absolutely class, football fans all over the world would love to come to the UK, and see their countries playing big matches at Anfield, Old Trafford etc..
Infantino dislikes this

Tbf, the next World Cup in the 100th anniversary so Uruguay would be the right choice. There will some games played in famous stadiums like the Estadio Centenario that hosted the first final. River Plate Stadium, Bernabeu, Camp Nou and Estadio da Luz are just as famous as Old Trafford and Anfield.

48 teams is just ridiculous, win one group game, a couple 0-0's and penalty shoot outs & you would be in the last 8, how dull
I'll watch one or two matches, but I've never been so less bothered by a world cup that England was in.
I just hope all our lads get a reasonanble rest

Last 2 World Cups have just proven than FIFA is only interested in money, and couldn't give a shit about the game of football.

I enjoyed the last world cup but there is no way that i"ll be watching a neutral football match after 11pm. So I will watch some of it but not as much as other world cups.

Me and a couple of mates were planning on going to this. Probably been 3 years in the making. Venues, travel, accommodation etc. Nothing booked until tickets confirmed, but all planned for.

By the time it came to apply for the tickets FIFA had absolutely sucked the enjoyment out of it with the ticket prices, the pre ticket phases, the constant merch, the peace prize et al. And of course trump didn't help either.

We didn't even apply for tickets in the end.

with the amount of world class players getting less and less, I'm less and less bothered...the 80's &90's were just class. Proper stars and characters, it's all a bit sterile these days and I find myself less bothered.

It’s such a shame all tournaments seem to be extended these days for commercial reasons. Playing in the summer after a long hard season is hard enough without the unnecessary expansion.

Trump will fanfare it as being the best tournament ever up until the point he gets booed somewhere and then he’ll not be seen present at it again.

Some of the players here man....

No real interest in international football these days.

Didn't even realise we were playing the other day.

Will obviously take a bit in whilst it's on.

Hmmmmmm... whilst you may have a point, the one in Russia was tremendous. Probably the best world cup of the modern era. And our failed bid and Putin aside, I had no qualms with the Russians hosting it. It turned out to be a great world cup.

I'll watch as much of it as I can, but I'm not overly excited by it

Even less excited than Qatar. Silly kick-off times, players like Trent claiming it's "Madrid and nothing else", led by a German (I'm a big believer that international football should be you against us mentality and therefore all staff should be English) and pretty much every nation besides Iran attending. Oh, not to mention American TV and the ads that come with it. đŸ¤¢
We are ‘led’ by a German because by and large English managers are dunces

Think it’ll be shit. One it’s in America. Two, the times on the west coast will be shit. And three there’s far too many teams there.
Think there are 13 different ko times so something for everyone.

Yeah I meant Qatar and USA. Had no issue with Russia (at the time)

Not disputing this. Tuchel is a bloody good manager. Comes across as a decent bloke too. But having said this, I still think the international stage should be our best vs. their best.
