Xhaka not happy with the early leavers

He has history for it lately, must be thinking why did I leave bayer , in last 16 of champions league, for this shit , supporters can't even be bothered ,
Obviously I have no idea why he left. I could hazard a guess though. I am sure, even if he is pissed off that Bill & Bob left early, his £50k a week will lessen that annoyance a little.

Some supporters have to leave early for good reason but not thousands! It sends an awful message to the players, that theyre deserting. given up. It cant help with motivation.
Reasons that oddly didn't apply 121:59 minutes into the Coventry game, even though it was a 8pm kick off.

His career will be over soon and it's obvious he wanted to get into coaching and see the rough side of the game. The struggle some clubs can have of a season. He wasn't forced to come, he chose to.

2 people I've seen.

One bloke used to sit in front of me at my old seat, would leave around 80 mins all game. I'd walk out after the full time whistle and hes on the concourse watching the tvs... wtf?

Another lad who is a mate leaves his seat early and just walks around the middle walkway as that's what his dad always did. Doesn't know why he does.

Only happens at Sunderland apparently.
Where has anybody said it only happens at Sunderland? Show the posts.

What people have said is Sunderland is one of the worst going for the amount that leave and how often it happens.

Thats before we get to the pockets and pockets of empty seats dotted all over yesterday. Where are they?

Plenty had left a good 10 mins before the standard 90 mins around me, but you can hear the same frustrations in people voices. Felt like players were just going through the motions yesterday.

I'm wondering where the high press, and intensity has disappeared to, nevermind the fans at full time.

I said we're no different to any other set of fans.
You're response was "bollocks"
Truth is it happens up and down the country.

Are you daft?

I'm saying its bollocks that we are no different, because in my view we leave in far bigger numbers and far more regularly than other teams.

At no point have I said it doesn't happen elsewhere. It does but not to the extent it does at the SOL.

Are those of us who attend allowed to criticise? Thats usually moaned about aswell.

Well, i think it is.
Everyones allowed to criticise, but those who don't even bother attending, criticising those that do because they chose to leave a few minutes early is slightly ironic wouldn't you agree?

I'm pleased that we've managed to guarantee Premier League football for another season and not did a Wolves, which was almost the unanimous verdict from pundits and most other clubs supporters.

Yes the performances seem to have ran out of momentum recently. There's probably a number of factors that are contributing to that including; injuries, AFCON, some of the squad may have been told or realised that their time here maybe coming to a close and of course the achievement of safety so early. Factor in that we're not the bright new enigma anymore too, managers have had a chance to watch our game plan and find ways to nullify it.

I'm not trying to make excuses as performances since our first loss at home way back in, checks notes, February have been stagnant and piss poor particularly the farce at Port Vale last weekend.

I'm with Xhaka about the leaving early bit. It looks shite, provides ammo for the usual suspects to criticise and isn't particularly inspiring for players who thrive on the backing from the stands. But it's a two way street, any audience is going to be put off by dull and turgid performances.

I think that after next weekend, which I'm looking forward to less and less, RLB, Xhaka and the rest of the squad have two weeks without any games to really reset, work on whats going wrong and improve. That said a Spurs team clinging on by their fingernails might not be the best to face first one back.

Play better football, score goals, entertain the fans. It's not the Krypton Factor.

So what was the deal during the playoffs, and in the first half of this season where on almost every game we were under the cosh, had low possession and barely any chances.

I will tell you what, the fans attitude to playing in the Premiership.

We have become deluded and entitled within 30 games.

We are odds on for relegation next season if the Stadium of Light is like that next season. Talk about how the players play all you like if they don’t have confidence and energy to play at the levels they have, when they get the support we are toast.

Every commentator in UK has talked about the SOL having the best atmosphere this season about it being our secret weapon, about how difficult it is for the opposition to play in.

What about all of this do people not understand?
I agree mate, hope it picks up a bit between now and the end of the season.
