RLB will be gone before next season

I think the club would need to be very careful about chasing a different gaffer, we have seen a few sides totally cock it up by doing so.

RLB has done an outstanding job. Hugely impressive for our first season back in the premier league, we were always going to run out of steam at some point.

Deserves the chance to continue, like most people he is learning all the time, I wonder if some of the coaching changes has negatively impacted us?.

The bench yesterday should have been evidence enough that the squad is down to bare bones now. That said, our bare bones should of still beaten Port Vale… but I blame the players for their attitude in that match more than the manager for how he had them set up.

Me too. For me they may have been told what to do by their manager, but there's 11 brains out there who should be able to put something together themselves too.

RLB doesn't strike me as "rocket up the arse" kind of manager and I don't think a lot of ours would respond to that either.
Basically they had it their ability to win it, and they blew it.

He’s probably on an absolute fortune and would have bigger than us interested but I reckon Chiesa on the right of a 3 up front would work a treat and take a lot of pressure off Brobbey, allowing him to concentrate on finishing.

I agree on the pitfalls of Europe, particularly the Conference League, I swear I've read it's a net loss to take part in.

It would still be a great achievement for this season though.
Still way more than the fa cup or league cup in prize money, plus the gate money etc, so well worth winning and a ticket to the europa the next year as well if you win it, but nowhere near the 50m plus for getting to where the mags have got this year in champions league.
Tied in with that, I bet it’s a good 15/16 games to win it, which means 3 games a week depending on domestic cup results as well so it’s a heavy season for the smaller squad teams, whereas the Man City’s of the world can rotate we’d be hammering the core of the team weekly as well as travel to potentially the arse end of Europe

Unfortunately some people on here can never accept when a manager needs changing. Seen it with Jack Ross, Mowbray etc. If we want to progress as a football club we need to move on from RLB. He has done a great job, but has now taken us as far as he can. That’s not a criticism either.
Id keep RLB at all cost. Without him, we would be relegated next season.
There are no one out there are better than RLB. Spurs tried to find a manager and they failed twice lol you see how messed this club are in. Changing manager wouldnt work as long as the players attitudes and right mindset is there.

Come on , we have just beaten by Port Vale, thats football. Lets move on! IM sure the result is better in the next few weeks. You guys need to f***ing calm down. Jesus christ, Im done with yous.

People are mental like if they think he should go after keeping us up. However the club are ruthless if they think they can get better they may just do it. Would be harsh as fuck of Reggie though who has earned a second season in the premier league. Hopefully we bring in some better forward players that help with the attacking side of things as we seem decent at the back and could hold our own lower to mid table.

Think you’re doing him a disservice. He’s achieved exactly what they wanted from him, promotion followed by safety, and should be lauded for it.

I think there’s a very real chance they replace him in the summer, but it won’t be because he’s failed. It’ll be because they think someone else is better.
In a way Ive been thinking this could happen (a long time before the weekends result) - KLD has brought in the next level DOF and in turn he has brought in the next level of footballer, if we splutter over the line RLB may well be the next one thats upgraded

If you look at the club over the last 12 months or so, we’ve replaced the team captain, the head of recruitment, the sporting director and shown no sentimentality to the players.

There’s only really the head coach in a leadership position who’s remained. I’m not advocating for him to be replaced, I just wouldn’t be surprised if he was.

I would say tho , that he will probably leave at some point in next few years as it’s rare to stay anywhere long, he’s probably in top ten of longest serving managers in prem and he’s only been here nearly 2 years

yep - same here, wouldnt be surprised to see a change

Talks in riddles about connections
dynamics and experiences reminiscent of Cantona and the seagulls

Any manager worth his salt would have put a rocket up them at half time but we have been papering over the cracks for a long time.

Lets face it we got lucky in the play offs, lucky at Wembley and Xhaka has been acting as de,-facto manager on and off the pitch.

Without him we are rudderless and will probably splutter our way to safety.

Ghisolfi brought in a number of quality players who dont need a great deal of " management" and yet RLB still insists on Hume in the hybrid role.

KLD has to much invested to fail and Ghisolfi will be working on a manager to take us to the next level.

Nice guy but he has to go in the name of progress.
Totally correct assessment

Mags and other clubs would be over the moon if we sacked Regis ,crazy on here ,the op is either a mag or a total Buffoon, probably both tbh

Let’s be honest if you want job security football manager isn’t a good career move, although the pay offs can be immense.
Personally I think we are still in the building phase for another season or two, so it’s steady as you are while we build, then maybe look at new managers as the squad improves.
May well be rlb plays better football as the squad depth and skill level improves, but it’s primarily survive while we do that even if it is dreary at times.

Everyone calling for his head should just remember back to circling the drain for years last time we were in the prem, we are safe with a quarter of the season left, that’s pretty f***ing epic if you ask me

I am calm, just feel we need a change. A manager who is attacking minded and not scared to take a few risks now and again, especially against the likes of Port Vale. He’s done great solidifying us a premier league team, now we need a new man in to take us to the next level.
