RLB will be gone before next season

You're wrong.....at least eight regular players out through injury and suspension plus a three fringe players injured. Players coming in are either not match fit, no spark or simply not good enough. You can only work with the players available and RLB is not a magician. Yes it was a shit game but on the bright side we beat Leeds which I would take all day over yesterdays result.
The bench yesterday should have been evidence enough that the squad is down to bare bones now. That said, our bare bones should of still beaten Port Vale… but I blame the players for their attitude in that match more than the manager for how he had them set up.

The most popular managers we've had in recent years have often been bulging-eyed mentalists yet none of them solved the problem of SAFC. RLB is trying to think his way around problems and it's mostly working. But yes , as soon as they think he's the weakest link he'll be gone....

Talks in riddles about connections
dynamics and experiences reminiscent of Cantona and the seagulls

Any manager worth his salt would have put a rocket up them at half time but we have been papering over the cracks for a long time.

Lets face it we got lucky in the play offs, lucky at Wembley and Xhaka has been acting as de,-facto manager on and off the pitch.

Without him we are rudderless and will probably splutter our way to safety.

Ghisolfi brought in a number of quality players who dont need a great deal of " management" and yet RLB still insists on Hume in the hybrid role.

KLD has to much invested to fail and Ghisolfi will be working on a manager to take us to the next level.

Nice guy but he has to go in the name of progress.
I hope Paddy Power don't get on here because they could make Sunderland fans look as bad as the Mags.

Bullshit

There's every chance we go on a good run to the end of the season - our fixtures are quite favourable - and end up in Europe. Saying we've just been lucky and the manager is clueless is insane, no matter how awful yesterday was.

The talk on here is absolutely unbelievable.

We're on course for a top 10 finish, in our first season back in the Premier League and some deluded "fans" are calling for him to be sacked.

We do have areas of improvement, but to call for our manager to be sacked is embarrassing.

it's genuinely embarrassing - majority of these people are adults with families

mind boggling

Not sure the day after getting binned out of the Cup by a team that’ll be playing in the 4th tier is the right time to objectively discuss RLB’s future as our Manager. But, it’s got to be something under consideration when the senior leadership do a post season review. Ironically, I think Reg’s position will be more under threat if we managed to get a European place. In the same way we upgraded our squad after promotion, we should look at a managerial upgrade for the next level
I’m sure they’ll do an end of season review and draw judgements after that.
Apparently Bruce told a few pre-season that the club’s target was 12th place this season and if true Le Bris is roughly on course to achieve that goal.

What remains unknown is the owners ambition beyond this season and whether based on this season, he sees Le Bris as the right man to achieve that ambition.

KLD has form for ruthlessly replacing head coaches here against mainstream footballing logic (Johnson was sacked after losing a game at Bolton where had we won we’d have gone top of the table), he was also sounding out replacements for Mowbray at a time when he’d achieved a highly commendable sixth placed finish in our first season back in the championship.

This is the style of play and you can’t really argue it hasn’t been successful but I can’t see it changing
Changing to some attacking expansive style takes a while and a big chunk of change.
Keeping things tight at the back and nicking goals here and there is far more economical and effective when you first get promoted.
Gonna take seasons to build up a team that can both attack and defend effectively as you just can't throw money at it as psr or whatever version getting used will hammer us.
Survival this season means we will have a half decent transfer pot in the summer and the same the year after if we survive and allows us to build slower that we'd like but stronger year on year, bearing in mind in a year or two we may not have anyone from the championship at the club as we upgrade so it'll be a whole team thats been replaced

Europe could be a double edged sword, great for the fans, but this season has shown how threadbare we can get and we've had just 3 games extra counting the fa cup. That conference looks a massive grind on squads playing it and is a shit load more midweek fixtures and travel so not much rest for players

There really is some absolute knackers on this board. We laugh at the mags for posts and attitudes like the OP. We were absolutely shite yesterday but to be calling for the managers head/speculating his sacking when the bloke has us top 10 in the Prem on first go is lifting crack. Bore off

We’re 11th. It doesn’t matter much, he’s done exactly what was required this season, but we aren’t top 10.

Totally agree - we all want the best for the club and see us move up to the next level. If that means a change in Manager, then we need to take the sentiment out of it & get the best possible (Simeone would be simply lovely but ain’t gonna happen sadly). In the meantime, 9 games to go & goal should be max. this out to see where we end up

I agree on the pitfalls of Europe, particularly the Conference League, I swear I've read it's a net loss to take part in.

It would still be a great achievement for this season though.

True but it does need to evolve, I'm not saying we need another 30 goals or we need to rip things up and start again tactically but as examples we need to get better at playing off Brobbey and we need our wingers to be more of a threat. Both of those things would see an increase in chances created / goals scored

Nothing more sinister than referring to the individual in question via their pronouns only, rather than showing them respect by naming them. Bitchy.

The Simeone who is a famous defensive coach? ;)

The SMB would meltdown if RLB played a 5-5-0 formation.
