New Music Releases Thread

Jana Horn: very good but very, very fragile (for want of a better word).
Currently listening to this. Like it. Hearing a bit Cat Power in her voice. Could be tempted to go and see her in Newcastle on Monday with Nev Clay as support.
I replied to a post from 2023. It's her new self titled album I was listening to.

Diving in early as I fly later today. On Friday, there are new albums from Bonnie 'Prince" Billy, Book of Churches, Charlie Puth, Gnarls Barkley, Harry Styles, Morrissey, Squeeze, Tanya Tagaq, The Scythe, Seamus Fogarty, Field Commander Ali, the Help 2 Warchild compilation, Katherine Priddy, Shabaka and The Delines.

I listened to the All New Rock playlist on Spotify and came across a band called Brigitte Calls Me Baby. Their latest song is very good and first album released in 2024 is brilliant. Strong Smiths and Elvis vibes from the lead singer.
I’ve given these a listen after seeing this post. The 2024 album is class and there’s a new one next week. I was looking yesterday to see if they’re touring only to find out they’d played Newcastle on Tuesday. Gutted I missed them.

The new Andrew Wasylyk album Irreparable Parables is excellent with guests including Stuart Murdoch, Gruff Rhys, Field Music and Kathryn Joseph.
His ensemble are playing Newcastle next Friday.

The new Deadletter record is a belter - Cheers! and Songless Bird are my personal faves. Got tickets for them in Newcastle in June

Already pre saved it when I heard that single. Aye I saw they were playing newcastle supporting vaccines. Went to buy a ticket but was £55 +. They’ll be touring again winter I reckon so I’m going to take the risk 🤣

couple of interesting covers from the Fontaines crew today, Massive Attacks Angel by Griann for the peaky blinders soundtrack and Sinead O'Connors Black boys on mopeds for the help album

Ah right I didn’t realise it was a support slot. I’ll keep my eyes open for more dates.

Cameron Pictons new stuff sounding brilliant, Georgia and Taylor from Jockstrap involved

Sadly the new Crack Cloud is a real dud. It's all over the place, and not in a good way. Too long and no quality filter. From what I've read it's essentially a solo record by Zach, so there's hope that this is just a one off blip. There are still a handful of good tracks on it but nothing to write home about.
