Will be an absolute mess to try to officiate for linesmen with body parts forward and back, rather than looking across a line with a clear view on 1 side.

Surely they must have realised that come free kicks, the attacker can now stand goal stand with a trailing foot keeping him onside. In fact, even during play an attacker can stay tight against a defender while being goal side but still onside and get a head start against the defender.

This trial they're doing in Canada with the stupid daylight rule suggestion from Wenger won't see the light of day in football 😉

And after all that above, people will still moan that the attackers heel is keeping him onside against the defender's big toe. All they're doing is moving the line all while making it even harder to officiate it!

Great points like

I think it's fine as it is, I knkw people don't like it if an armpit say keeps someone onside or offside, but it's the way it is, it doesn't need changing.

This seems like a good way to support Haaland getting 500 PL goals.

Agree with comments above, it doesn’t change the core issue. Current method is ok IMHO as long as you exclude arms.

His studs are onside.

People just need to learn to accept there always had to be a line and there will always be judgement calls. Just grow up and accept it. Still better than days where people a mile offside score and its allowed or obviously onside goals being cancelled. My only issue is it needs to be faster checking

I'd prefer if they went back to if any player is offside, they all are whether the player is interfering with play or not. If a defender on the far side of the pitch is playing everyone onside, the goal stands even though he's not interfering with play, it should be the same the other way around.
