Robin Roefs 🇳🇱 compendium

The more i see some of the teams at the top keepers the more I think £50m is a piss poor fee. He’s one of the best keepers in the league already, he’s 23, he’s on a long contract why would we only double our money plus a bit extra when he would be worth way more to a team at the top than a throw away player they’ve spent £30-50m on. Even the so called best keepers in the league like the lad at Villa he’s had way more mistakes and iffy games this season than roooooofs. Just yesterday he was at fault for the goal and nearly fucked up a few other times. £50m is starting to look cheap.
~£9M to £50m would be a lot more than just doubling our money and a bit extra mind.

But in general I agree

Thought he was £16m there were that many signings I’ve lost track. Still think £50m would be cheap given the state of goalkeepers at the top clubs.

Top Most Expensive Goalkeeper Transfers (Approximate Fees)
  • : Athletic Bilbao to Chelsea (€80m / ~£71.6m)
  • : AS Roma to Liverpool (€72.5m / ~£65m)
  • : Inter Milan to Manchester United (€50.2m / ~£43.9m)
    • : Parma to Juventus (€52.9m / ~£32.6m)
    • : Benfica to Manchester City (€40m / ~£34.7m)
    • : Barcelona to Valencia (€35m / ~£31.4m)

    • : Chelsea to Real Madrid (~€38.8m / £35m)

    • £50 million for Onana 😂
Keeper prices don’t seem to have went up much over the years given how important a position it is and how few top level keepers are around these days. Look at that Buffon fee when was that 2000 or something 🤣

£50m would be over four times what we paid for Roefs. That's with add ons included.

Think I was getting the fees with the others keepers linked at the time mixed up a few were pretty high weren’t they. The lad that went to Bournemouth, the lad that went to play in the city that doesn’t exist in the Middle East etc think those two were around the £16m mark.

For some reason keepers generally don’t go for big money compared to striker’s which I find bizarre
Imo a keeper is just as important as a striker is
I think it’s just easier to find a competent keeper rather than a goal scorer. Every team in the league seems to have a decent one, even Dubravka with his occasional poppadom wrists has been good on the whole.

Where as strikers there’s not that many that I really think are great. It probably comes down to it being easier for the big clubs to hoard 3/4 good strikers and still give them game time, whereas a good keeper will want to get out and be a starter rather than be on the bench.

I think this is the case. Most players want to play, so most keepers are first choice somewhere

Whereas the top teams have multiple strikers who would walk into other teams, but they get enough game time to keep them all happy

Chelsea have spent a fair wack on keepers and haven’t had a “top” level one since the big head gear lad who’s name I’ve forgot 🤣

Bournemouth paid a mental £25m for Petrovic.

Petr Cech
Nixon probably reckons we’re selling him for 2m the daft old ****
He’s the modern equivalent of clubcall.

Click bait headline, pay a premium price to see his story and some spurious link or whatever he’s made up that day.

Offers anywhere near £50m come in for Roefs then we’ll cash in imo.
Depends what happens from now till next summer. If we finish strong with more stand out performances from him, he goes on to claim the number one shirt in the World Cup etc I’d be absolutely shocked if we accepted £50m as I can see three or four teams in for him at that point.
