ID checks for away tickets

Some people go on like it's been some kind of torture to go to away games when we weren't doing so well. People went cos they enjoyed it.....they dont deserve compensation.

Indeed, it's closed shop and those in it refuse to even discuss how it could be made more equitable.

The premise that the only people who can go to away games are those who are obsessed and sacrifice everything else isn't healthy.

Had to move away for family or work commitments - tough
Not old enough to have gone to the games in League 1 - tough
Anything that threatens my strangle hold on getting tickets for every single away game - tough
Not this shit again. Our away ticketing policy has been absolutely fine for years. Leave it alone
Fair points.

I’d agree that the people who have put in the miles deserve first dibs- no doubt about that- I just wouldn’t want to create a scale of how “good” fans are.

There are numerous reasons why people can’t travel to away games- not least the financial commitment it requires. I wouldn’t want to put someone in a “worse fan than me box” because I’ve been more fortunate in life.

….and yet the game has never been more popular or well supported.

Tempora mutantur, et nos mutamur in illis
Did you get your ticket for the mags ok?
I started travelling up (and going to aways) in 2018/19, at least in part to stick two fingers up to the lily-livered clowns who all said they were finished - just when the club was at its lowest ebb. Here we are, nearly 8 years in. I'm on high sixties points wise, because I kept the faith (in part, rediscovered it, to be fair) and kept going to places like Gillingham, Accrington and Cheltenham. And we're on the up. So the lily-livered clowns are back. Well, tough shit, you've lost your place in the queue to those of us who didn't run away when it got tough
Well said

Was it a “closed shop” when we were away at Plymouth, Swansea and Cardiff last season? The away end at Cardiff was barely half full and it was Saturday during the summer.

It’s only a “closed shop” because those who have followed the club consistently in the last three years are being rightfully rewarded for their loyalty.

Think I’ve said before, have been sticking to the London games lately as not getting up north as often as last year (though I am there tomorrow but doing it in a day).

Haven’t even asked the question about the Mags game if I’m honest as in all honesty, the derbies aren’t for me- just brings out the worst in some of our fan base- didn’t even watch the home one on TV (booked tickets to take the kids to Home Alone)- my heart sank when it popped up in my watch that Woltermade had scored- but you know the rest.

Probably much more difficult to pick up tickets on the “grey” market for a match so close to Sunderland is insane as a lot of the local lads will want to snap them up.

What’s weird is, according to the club, only 3 out 10 at the Man City game are taking up their opportunity to be “rightfully rewarded”.

You also said it was easier to get a mags ticket on 0 points rather 70 so just wondering if you followed that through?

You have the wrong person pal. I’ve never said I wanted tickets for the Mags game and have no idea why anyone would think it’s easier to get tickets on 0 points than 70.

You definitely said that 🤣

Keep backtracking
Happy to take a look when you find it but you obviously can’t (as I would never have said that).

Just find the relevant post, hit reply and it will quote what I said in the post you create.
You’re having a mare in this thread. Like you did in this one.

Post in thread 'Away tickets - Loyalty points . . .'
Away tickets - Loyalty points . . .
Ah, OK. I get your misunderstanding. No mention of the Mags game then.

I was pointing out that it is easier for me (with zero points) to pick up away tickets on the “grey” market a day or two before the game than accrue 70 BCPs over several seasons to obtain tickets via the official channel.

Sure you’ll agree that this is correct.

Having a mare on a thread is saying that RLB is “Just a French Michael Beale”. 😉

Mags game that started on 70 points? So a valid question then. Let me know when you’ve got your ticket 👌🏻

Are you seriously claiming it’s easier to spend 3 seasons accruing 70 points in order to get an away ticket as opposed to picking one up on WhatsApp?

Not sure why you’re obsessed with the Mags game fella- as I said earlier I’m not a fan of derbies - think they bring out the worst in our fan base and there’s no chance I’d be travelling 300 miles to watch one. Didn’t even watch the home one on the telly.

The London games interest me far more as I’m less than an hour from multiple grounds so it’s a lot easier.

You've been completely shown up man.

Aye. I feel a right plum.

Some random knacker keeps saying I want tickets for
The Mags game (which I don’t and have never said I did) and I have to keep telling him that I don’t want a ticket for the Mags and have never said I wanted one.

I feel terrible about myself.

To be fair, if you are based in London it would take less miles to build your BCPs than those based locally to Sunderland and travelling to the games.
