ID checks for away tickets

There has to be a way for people to move up the ladder. People passing on tickets and keeping their points high prevents that.
It's been that way for nearly 20 years though.

Just cos we're doing well now people seem to give a fuck about it. Even then we've been very poor away from home this season!

Last time we were in the prem games went to general sale all the time.

They also did in league One and the Championship. So ample opportunity for people to build up points.

I thought it was one game (Man City) where 70% of the randomly selected did not go to the ticket office. Might include a few that didn't travel for some reason.
Maybe. Just seems high when people regularly on here claim numbers like 1% of tickets are used fraudulently.

Appreciate it’s only one game, but these are the only numbers we have. If the club are using this season to “test the water” as to how big a problem ticket fraud is, these are the numbers they’ll be using to estimate the size of the issue.

I’ve got 24pts. Phase 3 is often capped at 25. Fully agree those who have 50+ or whatever are more deserving. But that’s a lot of miles I’ve done for someone to just inflate their points and give a ticket to someone who hasn’t done the miles. If it was more stringent more would trickle down and there’d be a chance to reach higher bands. What’s there to hide?

I'll say again. It's not mandatory for people to have a passport or driving licence in this country.
Also not mandatory for anyone to let you onto their property unless you comply with their wishes.

You can exercise your right to carry no ID.

The club can exercise their right to refuse you entry.

they wouldn't do that though as you can't forward an away ticket to someone on your network
I’m thinking more like someone gets a ticket on their own number but intending to pass it on to Person X and therefore is added to a network with Person Xs two mates so it can be bought together with them as part of their order

Maybe that’s not a realistic scenario I was just spitballing different potential “suspicious patterns” a club could target

You’re still fuming you mind

60% of those specifically targeted due to suspicions in a one off game, not 60% of fans. Lot of illness going around in December as well so probably less

You’re so desperate to get to an away game you’ll twist anything to try and make a case for a change to the system - should have gone in league 1 mate

I think everyone was random for that game. I haven't heard of anyone checked at that game not getting a mail. Ditto Brighton. I suspect they're still tweaking the system.

This is not true.

50% of those checks were random. As I’ve said many times before, selling on tickets is way more common than people think and you’re persistent denial of this fact should lead people to be suspicious of your motives. If you have any more accurate statistics to hand, I’m happy to look at them.

I was offered a couple for Arsenal for £50 each but couldn’t make it so passed. I mentioned it to an AFC mate who told me he wished he could get a ticket for that price.
All I know is that BarnesPark deserves a ticket
Way to deflect when you’ve been made to look a bit silly.

There was also the case at Brighton where their ticket office was unaware of SAFC ID checks. I think this data might be flawed

If he’s that desperate I’m sure he can get 1 off that Facebook page 😬😂

If the club are so determined to deduct a point for someone that is ill and can’t attend they should offer a buyback option for those who can’t make it at late notice, then sell the ticket on to those who can.
