Geertruida


Surely it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that we keep Geertruida. I’ve seen comments like ‘Sunderland won’t stand in the players way’ etc but as Liverpool have said regarding Curtis Jones that they’re reluctant to lose players this close to the deadline … if we can’t find an adequate replacement for Geertruida that should be our stance too.

I said the source that people were laughing at was the one who originally said we were interested in Gonzalo Garcia in the summer, that's completely different than saying the Fermin link was credible.
 
Someone comically suggested getting Browne back from Boro on loan to cover midfield. Even though this was in jest, name a better midfielder on our bench as cover.
And don’t say Rigg, he gets bullied too easily. Or O’Nein as he’s not as good as Browne in midfield.

Liverpool are in talks with us about Geertruida, agreed from the player's side and Leipzig I think.

I'd want both but it closes tomorrow. Just think we'd do better with dedicated positional players rather than Geertruida.

Whatever you dau about Rigg hes a better player than Browne. Hence why the manager barely played browne last season

We also had diarra on the bench last week

Liverpool want to take over the loan. We want a versatile defender in before we agree to it, talk of a 3/4m payment to us, we've said we won't stand in the way of the opportunity for him but need cover

If we don’t sign anyone new, I think they’ll be forced to do this. No way they can leave us with 4 midfielders.

Aye but he not our player is he? He would not be happy if we block the deal. Harsh lesson i reckon there is a pecking order in football. Still might not happen like.

Which is why we got pumped 3-1. Our options off the bench are weak in the midfield area.
