Geertruida

.But if we’re worried about conservatism against Burnley then that’s a problem that Geerty doesn’t fix anyway. Think it’s not all that conservative though, ultimately. Wasn’t against a better back 3 team in Palace. Would be better if we had Xhaka and Traore of course, but I’m fine with Hume doing that hybrid role so long as it doesn’t involve him rotating into the centre. From memory, every time he’s been able to just concentrate on the rhs he’s done very well indeed.
Geetruida or no Geetruida I don't want to see Hume in a hybrid role. Just play Diarra in that right of centre pushing on role he was bought to do.

This. I'd move if I was him. He 100% should have started as Xhaka's replacement in midfield. He's looked quality whenever and wherever he's played. The club have dropped a bollock here big time by not aggressively pursuing a permanent transfer as soon as the window opened. Covers CB,CM,RB and nobody can tell me he hasn't done enough in the first half of the season to warrant it. Massively disappointing.

That’s why he didn’t play, this is only new news to us

Aye maybe . Im just massively pissed off . Had a cracking sleep in for a change, stretched , had a sip of the tea our lass had put on the bedside , opened my phone to have another laugh at the Mags and this is literally the first thing I see . You can see how it spoils a mood .
Totally

Not saying I know we couldn’t trigger it yet. Just sticking to what we know, if that makes sense

So if we decide to play the back 5 again. After mukiele, ballard and alderete, o'nien is next in.... so we need another centre back aswell as a centre midfielder.
Reinildo has played Left sided CB loads in his career if we going down that route. If a centre half got injured we wouldn’t play 5 at the back we would just use 4 and O’Nien would be our first sub if a injury occurred and i wouldn’t have a problem with that for the remaining of the season only 13/14 games left after tomorrow losing Geertrudia isn’t such a big deal interms of needing a additional CB.

Hume has a huge game ahead tomorrow, that maybe one of the worst half’s of football I’ve seen a Sunderland player have the other week for a very long time. Reggie needs to let him concentrate on his strongest position if he’s playing him he will be wanting to put it right and doesn’t need another hybrid position to concentrate on. Ideally we will be putting square pegs in square holes on Monday to get us back on track. If this is true then gurty won’t be in the squad so hope we don’t do the role he played at West Ham. Wouldn’t be fair on Hume.

Asking him to play that role without the presence of Xhaka was unfair IMO. Hume was awful but there was mitigation

Geertrudia was brilliant over Xmas especially at Spurs away. He had a poor game at Brentford as did Xhaka Alderete Mukilele etc aswell then he wasn’t seen for the following 3 games. Hume is having a decent season but there isn’t a person telling me Hume is a better footballer than Geertrudia and he should of been playing ahead of Hume especially with Xhaka out
He was brilliant second half against spurs when he moved to central midfield. I thought he struggled first half playing exactly the sort of hybrid role that Hume has done well down the right hand side. He wasn’t the only poor performer against Brentford for sure.

Can anyone give a short description of the type of player he is? We are clearly wanting him to primarily play at RB as we have Bradley out for the season and Frimpong is injured too.

We will give you Danns as a sweetener don't you guys worry 😆😉

This has actually wound us up to be honest if true. The caveat being if true of course.

It’s all fair playing nicey nicey when we’re in the championship and need to attract players who want to kick on. But as a PL team, with aspirations to be a top ten regular, why would we not stand in the way of a team only a few points above us taking a very valuable player a few days before the window shuts, just because they need some strength in depth.

Of course Liverpool are bigger than us and the player will want the move. But you don’t see Brighton or Brentford just lying down and “not standing in players way”. They’d have Liverpools eyes out if there’s an optional fee they’d buy him and sell him to Liverpool themselves for a profit.

If there isn’t an optional fee, why not just keep him till the end of the season. May as well use the asset we have.

By the sounds of it, we’re now forced to find a replacement a few days before the window shuts (a window that everyone is saying there’s a struggle to do deals at a reasonable price). Or we’re left short in a couple of positions.
