We might get a small fee to payout the second half of the season, that’s about the best we could hope for imo
 

Geertruida is effectively our player until the end of the season so whether he leaves this month is up to us. My guess is that we’ve paid a loan fee and covered his wages so we’ll want that money back at least and probably a replacement lined up.

We can’t activate our buy clause without agreement from the player so that won’t be happening.

TBH I’m fine with our defensive options if he goes but we defo need another CM.

I agree with what you are saying, but is the limited amount of game time, down to this interest being known for some time? He should have started last week.

people saying we should have already took the option. why would you sign that deal if you were Geertruida given the game time situation he's found himself in? good in multiple positions but clearly wasn't going to be first choice anywhere under Regis

he probably won't at Liverpool either but it's Liverpool at the end of the day so don't begrudge anyone wanting that move. who have they got though that we can have in turn

The issue with the west ham match was thinking Hume was Xavi Alonso! As soon as he fixed that and got Diarra on, we looked a different outfit completely.

Yes the squad needs some more strength, but everyone seems to be blaming the club for this situation.

They've done excellent and Liverpool wanting Geertruida is a pain, but I've full confidence we'll have things in place to deal with it.
 
Not the best news to wake up to but having read the small print i.e. we have to agree, im pretty relaxed.

Its like a player asking for a permanent move, we won't stand in his way but its got to be the right deal and timing for us as well.

It does explain the non selection of him at West Ham now.

My main quandary is do we sign a midfield or centre half to replace him - or both. If we can't get who we need sorry its no deal.

I don’t think there’s much else to be done here. Even if he’d played every game, his Slot’s “guy” and will have likely wanted this move anyway
 
This must have been brewing for a while ,explains why he was in the under 21 team the other week ,hopefully the recruitment team have a ready replacement lined up

I agree he should have started but if this has been going on for some time I think that’s likely why he didn’t. I don’t understand the logic behind why he didn’t play but could be more behind the scenes that we aren’t aware of.

This could actually free things up and enable us to get a high level centre mid in, who can step in now while xhaka out and provide competition for the others when everyone fit, and we already have options to play le fee and diarra on wings so makes complete sense to strengthen there as we well covered at right back and centre half
