Let’s face it if roles were reversed and we had as many defensive injuries as Liverpool this wouldn’t be happening.

Yes but that is a deal we don't want as losing Jones won't only mean we are then light in midfield we are already down on home grown players

Doubt if theres any fixed sum , it will all be by negotiation but if Downie is right and theres no recall clause we would have a strong hand in that so we'll definitely click a bit . Wonder if Leipzig have anyone else we have fancied ?

i don't think an angle grinder or a pair of wellies would fit into our system tbh.

to me, if he goes and he wants to go i wouldn't be too fussed. i think we do have a reputation of looking after loan players well.
he's a good player but it wouldn't be the end of the world.

It’s hard to give you a review give the chasm in expectations between our two clubs. For Sunderland, he’d be one of the best right backs we’ve had in the premier league era. I’d argue second best to mukiele. He’d also likely be in the conversation for centre back and centre mid to be honest. Comfortable on the ball, reads the game well, some good passing (see our winner at Stamford bridge).

His biggest strength is his versatility. I think his level is somewhere between our clubs. He’s a good player but not elite level. Not big enough for centre back, not good enough going forward for right back, not mobile enough for centre midfield I’d argue at the very top of the game.

Interesting he was captain for Slot at Feyenoord
 
We must be close to a player(s) coming in as reporters have said as Neil and Alese have both been let go this week. I know it’s desperation stage if either of them okay but they added to the squad depth.
 
Surprising one - not too bothered in honesty so long as we don’t allow it before getting someone else in. Always need to make sure you have cover. I quite like him but he hasn’t had much game time. Will be interesting to see who we bring in.
