Away tickets - Loyalty points . . .

People need to stop blaming the club and start directing the negativity towards the ones who abuse the system for profit or priority.

Theres nothing wrong with the current system, when it isn't abused! It is...so the league/club/safety/supporters associations and anyone else who has been involved in the decision making have taken action.

If there's no problem, there's no problem.

Baffles me some of the comments on both sides of the fence tbh.

‘Way of living’ 🤣

Buying tickets to away games legitimately rather than on the black market is easier. Fact

Also when you initially raised it, it was nothing to do with your ‘way of living’ you were arguing it was just easier. And you also started with the passive aggressiveness (‘keep up’) so don’t twist things now
He a master at all this bull**it. Best ignored imho.

Crazy you man.

It’s easier for me because it’s flexible and that suits my lifestyle.

You obviously prefer a more ordered life and the way you do it works for you.

I don’t really want to change so let’s just be different.

Unlike you to have an opposing view to me.

Either way, people crying like bairns now have sweet FA sympathy from me.
You think all these people with high points were selling tickets for the past three season
😂😉

I tend to agree. All I’ll say is it would be hard to find a high pointer who earnt every one of those points by attending personally every game they have a point for.

At an average of 30-60 checks per game it’ll take years to catch people 3 times imo.
Tbf you can quite easily target people if missed a game when initially chosen for a check.

The main issue people have with the club isn't them introducing checks its the communication around it. What id is acceptable? Dunno? How many times are you allowed to hand a ticket to mate/family member if ill? Dunno. Can you pass it on as a one off in that situation? Dunno.

I don't travel away since the bairns came along but did so regularly over the 15 years prior so it doesn't effect me. Saying that, Id love to resume going away now the girls at getting to an age I feel I could but have no interest in Ballots or anything and feel the current system is fair when not taken advantage of.

But, I've seen/heard plenty of comms around people being selected for ID checks when they initially came in. Then the argument was not enough notice, don't check emails, they want a concierge on the gate from Sunderland doing checks or they should be able to turn up 3 minutes before kick off and not be delayed, "legally I don't have to carry ID" or I have a right to pass my ticket to who I want without the club knowing

Ironically I haven't seen anything on anyone being denied entry for producing ID. (I may have missed it mind, my network is limited and the ones I have read on here that have been denied have only been "part of my group" and mentioned nothing about if they actually presented ID)

If it was me and I didn't have photo ID there's plenty id have on my phone (All social media accounts, Google wallet, emails with my name on etc, Season ticket) Granted, there are some who won't have that or won't have a phone, who have been told to bring a form of ID.

We make buying a ticket with the sole intent to actually use it difficult  years ago if I bought a ticket and couldn't go... I didn't go.

I think the club are pretty clear on 2 of the 3 questions

As for ID, I think the vast majority know what a valid document is. Would you get into a night club with a railcard? Nope. It’s really not too hard.

Don’t see why they couldn’t say 10% balloted at the end of the loyalty period. Say for a 3,000 allocation, just have the cut off for the 2,700 fans with the most loyalty points. Or have two phases.

Anyone who misses out can enter a ballot for the remaining 300 tickets.

For games like the mags which will be in huge demand, no ballot to reward loyalty.

I think it closes the gulf slightly regarding points - and loyalty should be valued both home and away.

It’s not going to be a huge deal breaker, but it could be enough move people up a points bracket
There's only SC holders can get points so all that would happen is everyone would move up 19 pts and it wouldn't make a jot of difference.
Did all of these now loyal SC holders with low points attend away games in L1?

There are nuances though

Not an issue for me as I always have my wallet with my driving licence but is, for example, a photo on your phone of the ID enough as if so no-could really complain as you have your phone most of the time with your ticket on

What about the few people who have no passport or driving licence?

- Put any mid week, what would be cat b/c games to a full ballot (or pick x amount of games per season that will go to this).
- Keep tickets for cat A/weekend games the way it is currently.
- Sort the reselling problem so it’s not an option that people can do.

1. loyalty is still rewarded and the same people who get tickets now will have first chance for most games.

2. Those who have no chance currently will have a way of getting to some away games, and closes the gap in points over the 3 year period.

3. The club can charge a membership fee for people to be able to enter the few balloted games so increased annual revenue for them.

4. If for any reason you need to stop going to away games, you have a better chance of getting back into it later on and less likely to resell tickets to maintain the high points

Everyone’s a winner.

Nope.

How do people without passports or driving licences get into a night club?

My local rubbish tip requires photo ID to drop off my garden rubbish. I’m amazed how people get through life without ID.

There’s a group of about 16 who get on the same mini bus every game they have accumulated their points themselves like.

Same faces every week.

Not hard to find be plenty more.

They will introduce a ballot, simple system, small percentage of tickets put aside for all s/t holders to apply for a chance to attend.

Absolutely the right thing to do and the small minority of self proclaimed best supporters who will winge like mad will be rightfully ignored.
