What a sight the sol would be then mate!Sadly i think it would be years down the line before both were done but as last summer has shown KLD is full of surprises ..but if i was a betting man i would say south stand completed in five years and east in ten.Im certain though somebody on here will know what KLD's actual plans are for our immediate future.Get the east stand extended as well and let’s have 63,000 at home games. Have a team and they will come.
I think it will be sooner for the south stand and then the east would follow I reckon depending on where we are as a club. The sky really is the limit. What a sight the sol would be then mate!Sadly i think it would be years down the line before both were done but as last summer has shown KLD is full of surprises ..but if i was a betting man i would say south stand completed in five years and east in ten.Im certain though somebody on here will know what KLD's actual plans are for our immediate future.
Yes the sky could be the limit but if we are to reach anywhere near that the club needs to grow and extending the ground is a major part of that and i just dont see why folk that are stuck in a last century mindset just dont get it!Its very weird that its only the Sunderland fanbase that has a high percentage of folk who have reservations around ground expansion and i just dont get it if im being honest and its abundantly clear that Wolves, Leeds, and Forrest fans appear to be immune from that particular bewildering malady that will hold our great club back if it spreads to the boardroom.I think it will be sooner for the south stand and then the east would follow I reckon depending on where we are as a club. its because they are terrified the nasty mags will slag us off for empty seatsYes the sky could be the limit but if we are to reach anywhere near that the club needs to grow and extending the ground is a major part of that and i just dont see why folk that are stuck in a last century mindset just dont get it!Its very weird that its only the Sunderland fanbase that has a high percentage of folk who have reservations around ground expansion and i just dont get it if im being honest and its abundantly clear that Wolves, Leeds, and Forrest fans appear to be immune from that particular bewildering malady that will hold our great club back if it spreads to the boardroom.
I think you are right, they’ve done most of it now, I walked around the other night while the bairn was in beacon. It’s the little bit left where the brick work starts for west stand. Think it might have 3 incomplete sections.I thought so like as I was coming over the Keel Crossing but maybe I’m wrong. I’ll have a look next time I’m round that way.
Bonkers if true ! who gives a shit what they think?its because they are terrified the nasty mags will slag us off for empty seats
I hope they share your optimism.Yes the sky could be the limit but if we are to reach anywhere near that the club needs to grow and extending the ground is a major part of that and i just dont see why folk that are stuck in a last century mindset just dont get it!Its very weird that its only the Sunderland fanbase that has a high percentage of folk who have reservations around ground expansion and i just dont get it if im being honest and its abundantly clear that Wolves, Leeds, and Forrest fans appear to be immune from that particular bewildering malady that will hold our great club back if it spreads to the boardroom.
Up till the first few signings this season i would have had my doubts but no longer....It will be a business decision around growing the business for the future and will not be held back by parochial fan opinions stuck in the preceding century!I hope they share your optimism.
Second means of egress - if there was only one access block and that was the site of a disaster, Emergency vehicles wouldn't be able to get on siteI know there's been some talk, or at least suggestions with regards to a stadium expansion.
Has there been any thought on working with what we have - increasing capacity.
Now i'm sure there were initial design requirements that could now have changed as time has gone on.
- The access to the very front of the seating, need it be so wide? Can we add an extra row of seating, bringing fans closer to the pitch.
- The access blocks (SWC & NWC) appreciate these are for emergency vehicles. Do we need 2? Can seating be filled in one of these?
They'll want extra corporate with any extension id imagineJust extend the South Stand into one continuous tier.
A Red and white wall that’ll take it up to what around 53,000?
That’ll be enough.
That's why I would extend the East stand first corporate is easier to sell on the halfway line the only corporate that's not sold out is the 76yards behind the goalIt’s all about corporate baby!
Any additional normal fan seats will only come alongside a project to upgrade and improve our corporate facilities. That is where the money is and it also is no bad thing being able to impress the business and commercial world with a state of the art match day experience when they come to the ground.
Sticking in a few thousand extra seats just to sell some more season tickets is worth peanuts in money terms and won’t be the driver for anything.
I think part of the issue they want to resolve is to improve the fan experience which would mean widening the concourses. We’re already packed in like commuters on the underground, adding more fans without increasing that isn’t going to help any.I know there's been some talk, or at least suggestions with regards to a stadium expansion.

Build it and if there's any spare capacity for a particular game give the local schools a block for free for a day out, or an adult and child offer.
We've got to get them smitten - we've got a lot of lost time to make up if we are going catch the filth up.
