SoL To Undergo Multi-Million-Pound Investment Programme

I like the seats at Brentford where they've used multicoloured seats that make the stand look busy even when empty.

Could work well in our stadium too.

From an article I read today:

‘Two reasons for that,’ says Dave Gregg, Brentford’s associate director of operations. ‘One is that when we built this stadium (completed in 2020) we were in the Championship — multi- coloured seats are good at hiding the empty bits. The other is that red seats perish quicker, so we didn’t want all red.’

Whilst queuing to get in the NWC yesterday, why don’t they build an outer wall where the NWC extension comes down?
Put more turnstiles in and then it creates a bigger concourse?

Makes the stadium look shite though.. even with faded sections

Logistical and costly nightmare in terms of personnel and storage ..that's why nobody does it !
Ok. Well, if they don’t want pink seats and they don’t want the trouble of a cover, they need a rolling programme of seat replacement in the areas which get the sun every summer - a few blocks each year will do it.

Like you, I’d prefer just one colour, rather than a random mixture of different ones. I think we should go all white, but then have sections in each stand in red seats. Could have a huge ship from the old badge on one stand, a massive ‘SAFC’ (similar to what Man City have) on another, ‘HA’WAY THE LADS’ on a third, etc. Could even stick a huge Hummel logo on the fourth stand, if we signed a long-term deal with them. That would break up the all white. Then any red seats that faded in the future would be cheap to replace.

Im guessing where theyve not resprayed the south stand steelwork its incase its being ripped down?
I would guess its part of a contract to do all of the ground and made and paid for a year or so ago and not all the steel would be removed so i doubt its painting would have anything to do with a possible extension!

Personally i hope they announce an extension to the south stand once we are mathematically safe but next year I feel will be the hardest year for us and our performance both on and off the field will be a guide to our great clubs fortunes for years to come.

The common sense and sanguine part of me thinks all the one step at a time lets take it slow so we can cope with any knock backs and shouts at me lets just get incrementally better over 5-10 years .But thats the old sunderland that would have last summer bought a couple of prem has been and journeymen and a few foreign failures looking for a payday and in truth we would have been preparing for our next promotion push in January with parachute payments in the bank.

Next year will be harder than this thats for sure and if we finish well this season ,announce a stadium extension that demonstrates that we mean business and we are here to stay will create such a wave of positivity that will make it easier to sign better players and push us on and upwards.

Tbh I couldn’t tell you what colour my season ticket seat is.

I don’t care if it’s red, pink, black white or whatever.

Is anybody really that bothered?
I dont think folk are that bothered mate but eyebrows might be raised if they made them black and white...Personally i want to have pride in the stadium my club uses as its ground and whilst other than black and white couldnt give a fek but i would prefer the ground to look smart and well maintained and represent my club and sunderland itself and not look like some unkempt non league venue it did under the two spivs and the latin lurker's ownership.

Personally, I want every available penny going towards the team.

Good for u mate !but i really hope your in the minority... modern success in footy is driven by the business performance as a whole and your thinking is very limiting .... We couldn't possibly compete in the long term if we dont grow the business and that requires investment in non team areas that support the team and makes your approach very last century and very redundant.
