Is it? He's 24.I agree. You see what Xhaka is capable of doing in those scenarios, he demands the ball even when he's covered and can immediately play the ball to someone who can make things happen. It's unreasonable to expect a young lad to operate at that level of footballing brain but that's what we need at this level.
It's no shame on him not being up to this level on a regular basis and it's great credit to him that he's had 200 appearances and been a captain at the age of 24. Ultimately the club gave him a great deal of support and responsibility to help him develop and he's given great service in return. We'd all have loved if he'd pushed on like Henderson but there's no evidence that he will and given that no other PL clubs are in for him suggests that the all agree. Hopefully he'll achieve great things over the next decade and he continues to be a fan of the club.
I think ya just need someone better than him.
