All I can think that ppl have only an interest in football and everything else they don’t care about and so don’t acquire any knowledge, palace player was a goalie I think can’t remember name
 
I don’t think that there is a way out for him on this one. I can’t believe that anyone who is 50 years old is unaware of the sensitivities of the word. He would have been better off saying he’d made an error in judgement on the spur of the moment and taken his medicine. He would still have looked like a right dick, but he wouldn’t have looked like a right dick who is trying to weasel (and bribe) his way out of what he’s done rather than take full accountability for it.
 
There are plenty of articulate ex-players who could be employed in his place and wouldn’t use that kind of language.

Given claims “he didn’t fully understand the meaning of the word”, which I can’t believe for one minute

His comments were gross , I’m sure he regrets his mistakes.
Brilliant keeper , was tremendous for us , we made a big mistake not to push the boat out and sign him
As a pundit I think he’s usually ok
