Thoughts on Everton's new ground?

Nice ground but they forgot to install some toilets
I went to the toilet during the game due to the queues before and during half time. I’m not sure it was wise waiting though. Yes, they weren’t busy but it also had some lad with a speaker in his bag, blasting the new monkey and let’s just say, the sniffer dogs didn’t do their job today

Wish i could say the same from my seat.
Well if you supplied the plonk you could have watched it at mine, much warmer anarl.
crap ref? He kept you in the game.

The Everton fans were quiet as they must be adding the atmosphere if that was the case. Feel a bit for them if it's like that most weeks.

We weren't at the races either tbf but they were mute.
Only our lot I could hear.

Controversial opinion here but would have been an opportunity to rebrand and get rid of Z Cars song 😆 appreciate there may be some nostalgia with the older fans but I've always found it dreadful.
I hate it the one game we use for during founders week.

Good ground overall but aye the toilets in the upper bit are bit limiting but when it’s open for home fans it’s probably less of an issue

First proper away match with the kids. Mint day.

Stadium is really impressive from the outside and the food / drink area around the stadium is great. Inside feels very Bundesliga as others have said, looks good although the atmosphere was flat (would be same at SoL for a 12.15ko).

Inside the concourse there weren't as many food and drink stalls as I was expecting and the queue for blokes toilet was massive. Wandered around the corner though and there were another two men's toilets with no queue at all.

I like Z Cars but the rest of their 60s music / karaoke choices are terrible and the PA blasts / kills atmosphere. Too loud. Enjoyed the walk back into the docks area. Everton fans good crack and a likeable bunch overall.

Really like the fan zone outside, and walking up to the ground it does look proper quality. Inside, like most away ends, not enough space, bars were really limited in food and drink but served quickly enough.

The PA/music before the match absolutely seems to kill the atmosphere for the home fans though.

I did wonder if the music and theme was just for today?
They don't do it every home game thus far do they?

Ultimately depends on the game mate. The wins against Brighton, Fulham & the comeback against Palace the atmosphere was sound.

Heavy defeats to Spurs/Geordies/Brentford were awful.

Today the team sheet / previous 2 home outings set the tone from the 1st minute.

One thing that hasn't helped mind is fams being dotted around the stadium. At Goodison everyone knew who was sat next to them and you had pockets of loud fans who would start off chants etc. Whereas those same fans are now in seperate stands etc. It'll take time but it'll get there.

I think with Goodison there is many who look at it with nostalgia, you could hear a pin drop if it was an early kick off against say a Burnley or Bournemouth.
It’s the same for us , the last 6 months have just been mental so every game feels like an event at the sol, well most games and it’s easy to feed off this team who fight for the shirt the way they do, there will be games when the novelty wears off when we will have crap atmospheres , like all clubs really and prefer reactive atmospheres than orchestrated crap

Thought it was canny average all things considered. The atmosphere was poor, but perhaps that's just down to their fans sitting in silence. That said I don't think the sound seemed to carry well.

The toilet situation was a bit of a joke, hardly any urinals and took ages to get served.

Fan zone/dj outside the ground was canny.
They have servers in the toilets?

Flash bastards

Think you need to consider that it was the early stages of the FA Cup. Everton need credit for the stadium being pretty full, but there was a lack of atmosphere.

Stadium was decent. Good views, pleasant walk from the city centre. The lack of toilets was odd.

Access - 6/10: decent, if a bit far from the city centre.
Stadium bowl - 10/10: superb, despite being full of scousers.
Concourse - 4/10: somehow they made them worse than ours, which takes some effort.
