Jack Clarke

I think him and Roberts would both be useful at the minute. I know Roberts doesn’t have that yard of pace unfortunately to be a premier league regular, but he holds the ball higher up better than Rigg does(not going in on him as he’s not a winger) and that would stop us getting turned over so quickly.
Clarke in a similar ilk to Roberts again would hold the ball higher up the pitch longer but I do think he has the pace and the ability to step up, Ipswich was a terrible move for him in hindsight by the way they played him last season. Over the season I think he’d contribute more than mundle at this level if both were fit
Roberts is a decent Championship standard player.

Clarke for me is a very good Championship standard player

The fact that both are so reliant on one foot, has prevented them taking that step up in level.

I am amazed that a professional full-time coach couldn’t see that in their development as a youth.

So for 30minutes at the end of a game Clarke wouldn’t get on ahead of Rigg or the shit Adingra put out the last 2 games? I agree if we want to improve we need to be buying better than talbi, adingra and traore as it stands then they become the reserves. But Clarke during afcon would’ve been handy. A lot of it is down to intrigue of what he’d of been like with a full season here under RLB. Also with Mundle being so poor since his return aswell it’s just a debate point as much as anything. Not writing Mundle off as he just looks to be lacking sharpness

But you literally read a post took 2 names. Chucked a more ridiculous one in and then don’t back it up with anything. I know you were joking with power and really meant Scowen, I just don’t think people’s opinions of Clarke are that outlandish
👍

I think people need to realise we’re way past Clarke now. The fact this thread keeps coming up is ridiculous.

yeah he might have been a better option.. but wages fee .. no. Not a chance. Waste of money.

Move on.

Let me explain how this forum works. If it suits your agenda you add a couple of years onto a player’s age. Or take a couple of years off, depending on whether you are for or against a particular player.
I suppose he is 30 and 3/4 so he's pretty much 31 which makes him 31.

The lack of pace and physicality for both of them makes them not able to make the step up more, IMO

As has been said Clarke is a top end championship player. He’s unlikely to ever hold down a regular place in a PL side. A shame for the lad but he’ll still have a great career and make a lot of money so don’t feel too sorry for him!

I’m watching Adingra and Mundle outside atm. I watched Mayenda and Rigg out there recently. I’d take Clarke above them all playing wide.

Adingra has the most about him as a winger. But he's frustrating as owt making the wring choice too often.

Clarke is better than Mundle IMO as mundle is limited, but Clarke neither has the pace, strength or is two footed enough to translate his game into the top flight.

Mundle is far better defensively than Clarke or Adingra, which is important to us this season. Next year however, if we stay up, we need a bigger goal threat from out wide players.

He's stronger. But so far he's been extremely poor on the ball even in terms of receiving and passing to a red and white shirt - he's been out of his depth so any working back is generally negated.
