Boro thread

Gordon Jones has died. Boro full back and captain in the 60s and early 70s on Shoot games on Sunday afternoons. Played for Darlo and Crook afterwards. Sedgefield lad. Second record appearance holder for them with over 500 games I believe which is a lot for a team who like ourselves back then werent over burdened with cup run fixtures. Good player who left just before Big Jack took over iirc.
RIP.

Might have been the same person

How’s Browne getting on?
Last season there were 4 teams better than the rest until we give up march time. Real opportunity for them to come up, with how close it is behind Coventry. Was nice to see Clarke looking like his old self yesterday though
Started off really well but he's been poor recently. Gave the ball away in a dangerous area in the lead up to Hull's goal the other night and has looked off the pace.

Aidan Morris is fit again so I think he's going to struggle for game time now. Some Boro fans are even suggesting we should terminate his loan move and aim for another Premier League loan.

Looks like a lot of the play off teams and those chasing play each other next game so they should be alright for another week but Ipswich will fancy themselves away to pompey you'd imagine

I have said it before but the likes of Ayling , Conway, Fry , Britain Burgzog etc will be settled , all over 27 I think , houses and maybe kids at school. None of them would benefit from promotion.

They would be shipped out on loan.
They have Alan Browne in their dressing room showing that if they went up , their next role would be on loan to Stoke or Cardiff

Until they get a team of youngsters who are hungry , like Rigg, Bellingham , Mayenda Ballard Hume Mundle they can forget it.

They have made a start with Kante and a few others but they will need I think at least 3 more windows

The last thing 80% of their team needs is promotion.
