Gordon Jones has died. Boro full back and captain in the 60s and early 70s on Shoot games on Sunday afternoons. Played for Darlo and Crook afterwards. Sedgefield lad. Second record appearance holder for them with over 500 games I believe which is a lot for a team who like ourselves back then werent over burdened with cup run fixtures. Good player who left just before Big Jack took over iirc.

Cheers for that I seen a thread about him yesterday but hadn’t heard of him, I did ask, but folk either didn’t know or couldn’t be arsed explaining.

Canny appearance record for them mind.
 
Lots of boro fans on here went on like absolute arseholes when we were in the league below and same league wanting to be treat with respect. Well I’ll not gloat but it is nice to see normal service is resumed. Let’s face it they’re a mediocre sized championship club that are in the position they should be.
 
Really thought they would beat mid table Derby
The new manager seemed great but recent results need a quick turnaround-not sure if their squad is suffering injuries /suspensions but something dosnt seem right ?
 
Middlesbrough won't make the play-offs. Losing the mighty Rob Edwards was a massive blow.
