Leeds 28/12/25 thread

Are all Leeds fans freaks or do we just get the weirdos on here?
It's @Peace posting under his latest name

@Peace stopped posting on the 7th December, then joined as @Undercover on the 8th.

I've put the mentally unbalanced fool on ignore...... weirdo sums him up, perfectly 👍

The sad thing is?

Whoever they are and whoever they support they'll think their derailing of a SAFC thread on a SAFC message board about an upcoming match and making it all about their posts is a real "success" for them.

I honestly don’t think that. These should be places for reasoned debate and some fun. If you read some of the comments from myself or Undercover but changed the user name to something like like ‘Gobby Gabiadini’ you probably wouldn’t bat an eyelid

Echo chambers are incredibly boring

Anyway 1-1 would be my prediction

Happy to reply to the post rather than the poster until proven otherwise.

I'm an absolute pessimist when it comes to SAFC so given:
Our lads at AFCON.
Your upturn in form following your change of tactics
The fact that Leeds will have before the season targeted this match as one to get points from if they want to stay up.

I'm expecting a low scoring draw.

PS.
This place is way too busy to become an echo chamber, there's always way too many opinions to end up like some forums.

Probably…but no more arrogant than a cross section of any ‘big’ club with a rich history and significant fan base - yourselves included. You honestly cannot tell me you come on this site and don’t shake your head at some of the toss that gets written and some of the arrogance that gets displayed on this very site by a few of the more moronic posters

Supporters of clubs like Bournmouth, Brentford etc are not like ours and that’s what makes them ‘nothing’ clubs

We’ve had decades playing with all the shit and based on the way we were run that is exactly where we deserved to be. However we still laugh at ourselves and embrace the whole Leeds are falling apart shit…

Anyway I prefer fiercely loyal to arrogant - I could change my job, my house, my wife, my sex (unlikely) or my religion. But I could never change my football club..

There's all sorts of nonsense posted on here. Leeds fans, however, seem in the majority to be arrogant and deluded, not just a select few.

As for fiercely loyal, Leeds fans disappear when you're not doing well. They reappear when you are. That's the polar opposite.

I was at elland road when there was 17k there in our Keane days, we took 5k! So 12k Leeds fans for a league match, they don’t seem to talk about those days much

Again, I actually don’t think that’s a fair reflection. There may have been one or two comments but in the main most Leeds fans were extremely positive about your TW relative to ours. There was maybe a feeling you could have overpaid relative to a players worth at the time but most Leeds fans I speak to were praising of the speed you got deals done and the talent that came in. More so considering that you were not a fashionable club and you don’t carry the attraction of being London based

I think some people on this site need to move away from making sweeping generalisations like this one along with others that keep getting made on this forum

A lad I know was adamant that Longstaff was a better signing than Xhaka.
Their fans have been great since Bielsa was there tbf, they could fill more now easily. But up until then it wasn't really a football city.

Don't agree with this, mind. Leeds is very much a football city.

Mate, I was there for a lot of those games. It was shit, turgid football but that wasn’t the issue. The issue was prices and Ken Bates saying ‘if you want PL football then you have to pay PL prices’. Most fans walked after that as soon as they saw players like Sean Gregan warming up. Things only improved after we got relegated to L1, started winning (in line with your point), prices came down a bit and Bates went. We then had a mental Italian until we got some stability and somehow fluked Bielsa

I think every club would lose a significant number of match day fans at the prices that were being charged. There was none of the £5 a ticket and kids / oaps get in free

It was a tough time and only a few clubs have really had to suffer it during the PL years ‘doing a Leeds’ was a very common turn of phrase back then

Brazilian giant in goal.
Big bastard back 3 of Bijol, Struijk, Rodon,
PL hardest midfield 3 of Ampadu, Gruev, Stach.
Scariest PL front two of DCL and Nmecha
Bogle and Gudmundsson bombing down the wings.

Scared Sunderland 0 Dirty Leeds 2
I’ve never heard of any of them.

We will stuff them.

Don’t you worry about that.

Absolutely. Leeds fans were paying more 20 years ago than Sunderland pay now. £470 cheapest for East and West including family stand and cheapest kids seats were £205

Firecely loyal, except when things are shite.

Leeds is a major financial & commercial hub in the North, lots of wealth in the city and surrounding areas.

Of course they can charge more.
