Ben Duckett - drunk.

If we weren't losing 3-0 I don't think this would be that big a story. Don't think there'll ever of been a tour to the non Asian countries where a lot of the team haven't gone out and got pissed in the middle of a tour if there was a big gap.

A level of fitness is required for test cricket but a lot of great batsmen weren't that fit. Smith, Kallis, Tendulkar, Lara didn't look particularly fit.

Noosa was definitely a bad idea but don't think Duckett should be removed from the team for it.

Without even debating how fit those great cricketers were and Kallis alone batted and bowled all day the problem is are losing 3-0

One can only dream - but it's an elitist sport, so doubt the "one of the boys" culture will ever go. But there should be a shakeup from top to bottom at the very least after this series.

I honestly believe that cricket does a lot right at grassroots but as you go further up the pyramid, the elitism becomes obvious.

As seen today though, there is still an old school attitude towards these tours.

Bethell been caught vaping now😂😂😂
The sight of Bethell is particularly infuriating on so many levels. The kid shouldn't even be there, he has achieved nothing as a cricketer and the stupid haircut suggests he thinks a lot of himself. But also to see a young lad pissed, vaping and acting up, being led astray by older and more experienced morons who really should know better. Monkey see monkey do.

Elevated unjustifiably and even given a leadership. Is it any wonder that he hasn't remained grounded?

Love a bit of strawberry flavoured chemicals in their lungs do the yoof mind. Makes me miss the smell of fags tbh!

Well you can't keep them locked in a hotel for weeks on end.....they need to let off steam at some point. Management can't mollycolly them either , they are adults and know the rules. They were in Noosa for 6 days...if they were given a pass for a night or two to stay out late then I can't see a issue... however if it was a 6 day piss up then it does need investigating. Key/McCullum/stokes thought it was a good idea to let them unwind , be happy but if they have overstepped the mark then it's been a total disaster.....Brook is worrying me this past year...his ODI captaincy , press conferences, batting have been calamitous at times...if you add going on the piss to this then he could be losing the plot.

Going out for a few and relaxing is no problem and the right thing to do

Going out, getting so pissed that you can’t find your way back, vaping, spending more time playing golf than practicing and treating the tour as a holiday is unacceptable

How do England football team manage it when they go to the World Cup for a month?

Nobody has said lock them in a hotel for weeks. However they should be professional and behave themselves which clearly they aren't. It's a massive jolly for this lot because they're a very arrogant bunch.

You are correct there. Winning is the biggest thing in sport and papers over anything.

Nonetheless, elite athletes don’t out and get blind drunk in the middle of a season / tour / whatever. It renders them unable to train / prepare at 100% effectiveness for a couple of days after, which absolutely affects performance.

This isn’t a single glass of wine or a pre-dinner beer, he is blind drunk and it would affect him heavily the next day and then also the day after. It’s pathetic behaviour from a professional in the middle of a campaign.

And yeah, there’s also the look of it. These are the guys representing the nation, they’re not a pub team, they absolutely have a responsibility to uphold the brand. It’s part of the job they’re paid for. This makes English cricket look bad. Seriously, you have supporters spending huge amounts to go on the tour to watch them, and when they’ve been pathetic to date. they can’t even bother to put in the optimal preparation to give themselves the best chance of performing?

It’s just a symptom of it all. The wheels have totally fallen off.
