Well exactly same to me think 21st birthday!Getting so drunk I couldn’t get home has happened to me once in my life. Aged 17.
He’s a 31 year old bloke representing his country. It’s baffling.
Stokes is preaching “empathy”. If he has mental health concerns about the lad, then don’t pick him for the MCG. In a series that’s already lost.
Been drunk plenty times since but not to the extent ‘ I am lost and can’t get home’
And he is a professional sportsman on the biggest tour of his life!
I still think the principle of ‘ no fear cricket’ and taking the attack to the opposition rather than been frightened to play shots and having a real togetherness around the team is the right way to approach been a successful team.
But with anything it’s about balance and these lot have got the balance all wrong and it’s coming across now as unprofessional with no accountability, and when you have the supporters who care for the team especially the ones paying a lot of money to travel there.
The ‘ empathy’ that Stokes suggests will be in short supply and rightly soo.
