I think what this thread highlights is the need for some serious thought from the club as to what the way forward is with this and how emerging anti touting systems will enable their strategy.
I imagine that most people when asked “do you think their should be people in they away end with no points and often not even a season card”- the resounding answer would be no.
If they were then asked “Do you think a supporter whose followed the lads up and down the country for 20 years should be allowed to take his young lad with him to Anfield?” The resounding answer would be yes.
“Should players be allowed to invite their close family to Anfield to watch them play in the Premier League?” - Probably
“Should a business that pays hundreds of thousands pounds a year in sponsorship to the club be able to access tickets?”- again, probably.
So much of the opinion on here is realistically based on self interest. As someone who lives in the South, I’ve accessed tickets on Facebook in the past and been able to access tickets from club sponsors. There’s plenty on here that will tell you I had no right to be at the final with my lad, but who wouldn’t in the moment when given the chance.
The wider context is that there are fans who are more deserving of away tickets than those standing in the away end each week as this thread will attest do. If you’re happy with this as the status quo, then we do nothing and accept the inequality.
I personally think it is probably something the club should have on its radar.
