ID checks for away tickets

The branches used to get a small percentage of tickets ie London branch a few for Fulham, they now get nothing.
Pretty disappointing imo
I often used to travel with and get tickets from the London Branch back in the day (80s) there used to be a travel officer; I remember there was Dave to begin with and then Eric, and then another guy who’s name escapes me. The system always went well…. (jumpers for goal posts 😉)

Yeah no problem with branches that’s how I get mine 😂 mind I’m on 50+ with 2 or 3 to still go on.
But like you say that’s defiantly how it used to be done, I can remember balckpool away I got 13 in total 🤦
I can’t see how you can have 2 or 3 to go on, mine from yesterday is already added.

Has went on for donkeys, has never been an issue till this season when those that half arse going away started crying.

It's ironic because the people who keep stating this are answering the reason why it's only become an issue now in their response. In previous seasons, someone with 15 to 20 points was able to get tickets for most games and accumulate points.

People couldn't just buy tickets for every away game in League 1 and practically guarantee that they can get rid of it to a total stranger every week and build up points.

So we now have genuine fans who have tried to accumulate points in lower leagues to go as and when they can. At the same, some people are accumulating points with no intention of going. So the result is a closed shop.

Look at every other PL club with big away followings like Man United, Liverpool etc. They are making it increasingly difficult to pass tickets on. People have very valid concerns with our system.

At the end of the day mate, the branches have to follow the same rules as everyone else.

They can only apply for tickets if they have numbers with the relevant number of points. Perhaps a couple end up with branch members with less than the relevant number but they will be a tiny minority.
You’d be shocked mate I know they have to follow the rules but I know plenty who abuse it
Those in branches and those who are not you are going to get people who take the piss.

Was probably the only thing at the time keeping me interested in football when at uni in London, train for £30rtn booked a day before back to Sunderland, tickets for games which were a non event for those back on Wearside.
People should never forget exiles. Yes it’s a choice but sometimes it’s not eh choice they would wish for.

All mine just say grant? Including brighton and spurs, this right? Me points are going on and up and everything works out so I’m not worried
I’ve a mixture of “Grant” and “add manually” I’m not sure what the difference means.

And football wasn’t as popular back then, less hassle with tickets.

I’ve been stuck on 18 points all season and have to buy tickets in the home end. It’s good that action is being taken that may stop some people going with less points.
You’ve got 18 points because you didn’t bother going much in the 3 championship seasons. Out of interest how many times you gone in the home end this season?

Yeah that's right. They go on automatically midnight after the game when they are 'grant'. This season only Palace and the home league cup game we're added manually

do they? there's quite a few on this thread saying otherwise, one even said there was a 'reserve' list in case of drop outs.

At least have the balls to tag me mate.

We have a reserve list in our branch for people that can’t make it for last minute issues. I’ve give an example of my uncle who took unwell and couldn’t make the Liverpool game, it was passed on to another branch member. No one lost or gained any money and the ticket got used.

Your own words were that these people ‘should be banned’

I really don’t believe you’re that much of a miserable arsehole and are just after a few bites.

From the other side I take my little boy who is 9 and obsessed with going. We’ve done 6 away games this season, off kind people (one being a grandad and his grandson) who’s bought them and I’ve transferred money and he has then transferred tickets. How at 9 years old is a child going to have 30 plus loyalty points to attend away games so does this mean he should miss out ??? I now feel in a position where I am gonna leave him upset by running risk of getting there and them turning us away at the turnstiles. It’s a joke
Well he’s not but why’s it fair for people to miss out so your son can go. Life isn’t fair

My son has 1 point but had the chance to goto every away game this season. Due to me putting in the miles in league 1 and so have me mates who can pass tickets on. Do the miles when it’s rough reap the rewards like we are now
Devils advocate here, but you realise that passing on tickets is also stopping others from being able to do the miles?
