ID checks for away tickets

Be good if those moaning about away tickets put on their post how many away games and which ones they've been to since we dropped divisions, and what they genuinely could go to this season if given the opportunity. It would be nice to see if we have a genuine basis for genuine attendees, or if it's just the returning glory attendees (and there is nothing wrong with that) wanting them.

I'm all for those making a profit by selling tickets on their allocations on being removed from lists, BUT, I suspect the actual amount of people doing this are of such a minority its just easy for people to bump their gums rather than take some personal acceptance that they ditched the club when they needed them, and now want to climb back onboard and are trying anyway possible to gain an easy win.

Sorry (not sorry) if this triggers some people.

Devils advocate here, but you realise that passing on tickets is also stopping others from being able to do the miles?
Also making me son miss out? So who misses out me son or some random person who didn’t bother doing the miles in leagues 1 and champ? I think I know the answer there mind mate. If people want to build there points up great unfortunately I don’t think this season they’ll get many, me son took his chance to get a point and will continue to do so every time he can cup games etc

My digital ticket wouldnt work at city yesterday, had no email and still haven't.. had to stand and miss the first 8 minutes of the game busting for a pee and in the pissing rain, they just gave me a paper one. Wasn't a happy bunny.
I rest my case bout modern technology mluad

This has a fairly simple solution - you can gift your away ticket up to 5 times to another season ticket holder, and then put 10% of away allocation to ballot so people have some osrt of chance to build up points if they get lucky - btw I dont have enough points to gift anything but branches are magnificent and put in thankless hours to essentially get a free bus ride and very little else.
Ballot idea is absolutely terrible and wouldn’t even give people a chance to build enough points anyway but it’s a shocking idea. Strange how nobody wanted this in the championship or league 1
My son has 1 point but had the chance to goto every away game this season. Due to me putting in the miles in league 1 and so have me mates who can pass tickets on. Do the miles when it’s rough reap the rewards like we are now
For balance I don’t think this is fair either

Just for context if me son say he doesn’t want to go they still go, so either way no one else would get thst ticket

You won’t get many responses to that as the nail and its head have aligned.

But but but….

It’s now getting almost impossible for those of us that live away, so don’t have a season card, to get to an away game close to where we live. I can understand why and the upset at those selling on tickets, but gutted nevertheless.

More chance of getting a seat in the home end if your an exile SAFC fan

At least have the balls to tag me mate.

We have a reserve list in our branch for people that can’t make it for last minute issues. I’ve give an example of my uncle who took unwell and couldn’t make the Liverpool game, it was passed on to another branch member. No one lost or gained any money and the ticket got used.

Your own words were that these people ‘should be banned’

I really don’t believe you’re that much of a miserable arsehole and are just after a few bites.
the balls? am i supposed to trawl back and see which poster it was that mentioned it? i'm presuming it was you? don't be so precious man.
i've also said that i was a bit harsh saying they should be banned. it would be better to be warned perhaps a couple of times in the case of 'genuine' cases then struck by the ban hammer.
try to refrain from abuse if you can't argue your point eloquently, it's usually the first sign of being wrong.

anyone who says they wouldn't take the ticket and would rather it went down the line to some random person and not give thier son/daughter the chance to experience and see the lads at united/city/liverpool etc is a lying bastard.

It's impossible if you don't have a season ticket and 20+ loyalty points as well. Which is fine for this season, but next season will be the same, and everyone currently around 20 will lose all their 22/23 points. At that point it is a genuinely closed shop.

Saying this as a season ticket holder for the last 28 years with 55 loyalty points, for the lad above who is interested. Would be a piece of piss for me to keep myself in phase 1 while attending zero away games, obviously I wouldn't, but some do.

It’s not the same though. I have had an offer of the use of a SC from a spurs supporting friend. Have to become a spurs member for £40 before the ticket cost.

It was great in L1. Loads went to general sale.

Abuse? For calling you out on wanting fellow fans banned. And then calling me precious.

I’m glad you’ve backtracked and realised you’ve been harsh. Your whole attitude on this thread has been ‘I’m alright Jack’

I apologise if you’ve found this abusive, I meant what I said when I said ‘you’re not a miserable arsehole’

I knew you had a kind heart really.

If youre on 19 points you did a fair few aways in the championship and league 1 but haven't been able to apply for a ticket this season and probably won't be able to do so. Thats a bit shit if you dont know anyone who can get you tickets for games.
Allowing for home cup games, Sheff Utd league game etc, it means you do about 5 aways a season. So at that rate you probably only want to do about 4 away this season in the premier league so not much disappointment really.

Has went on for donkeys, has never been an issue till this season when those that half arse going away started crying.

From last season

Aww ok so I will just wait till about 6 years time for him to experience away games when he might have enough points for phase 3 and think about others down the pecking order ….
Pretty much yeah. What’s your grand plan that would make it all better to fit what you want?
