“Fixtures aside Sunderland had the attitude that they are a Premier League side and deserve to be here. They aren't grateful tourists“

It’s hard to be impartial isn’t it.

I had breakfast with a couple of old mates this morning - a Spurs ST holder and a United fan (who has a Dartford ST). We were talking through our 9 fixtures before the end of January. They both think a fair spread bet for us on points is to be 15-18 above 3rd bottom before the end of January. They were crying when I said that I was worried that if we lost to Burnley at the start of February, then they might go above us 😂. As I was saying it, I realised how ridiculous it sounds to someone who isn’t a Sunderland fan.

It’s so hard. When I look at the squad, the first 11, and watch the games, then I think we’re total class. When I look at the fixture list, I think we’re screwed 🤣🤣.

How inspiring, the players didn't know how tough it was going to be🤣, but they are all fighters but that might not be enough? So all these players that they've bought and the ones expected to step up are nothing but fighters. They must be buzzing

What a quote that is. Is he really saying that Burnley are in trouble because they had a harder fixture list than anyone else (I’m sure that the last time I looked each club plays the other 19 twice, are their fixtures different then?), and that their players are ‘grateful’ to just be in the PL for a season? Wow!!!

At least Parker waited till after the 2nd game of the season like.
Didn’t he get the sack from Bournemouth after pretty much doing a Moyes very early doors a few years back? They stayed up as well

Couldn’t possibly be down to him being a crap Premier League manager though.

There’s a couple of posts suggesting that we’ve had an easy run, but there’s plenty of other posters calling that utter nonsense

Yes. 15 games into the season we’ll have played Utd, City, Liverpool, and Chelsea away. If only those games had been Wolves, West Ham, Brentford, and Villa away, then we’d have been 19th now 🤷‍♂️.

Its getting close to January, he may be angling for some additions

It appears he could with the addition of a pair of balls for starters.

After Moyes came out with that kind of absolute shite we saw how destructive it can be to the team and the fanbase.

Last season he oversaw the recruitment of a squad purely designed to get promoted and appeared to be happy with the people brought in - and presumably knew there'd be little wiggle room once they got him promoted.

Now he's hoyed them under the bus.

Yeah and I guess he has some credit in the bank for what they achieved last year. In his defence, he did lose Trafford and Egan-Reilly from that defence, and his captain, Josh Brownhill - they got £27m for Trafford and nothing for the other two, worth best part of £20-30m combined, so has probably been limited in what can be reinvested to an extent.
