So much for there's no sentiment in football. Luke fully deserved that tonight and you could see what it meant to him. Make no mistake tho it isn't just sentiment he will play his part on the pitch this season. His whole story is such an example of how far hard work and dedication can get you.

Great moment, also important one because I think he will get minutes over the next month at least, and he's been out for so long. Baptism of fire will have done him good to get used to the pace of the game.

His first ever PL game, after 6 months out injured, with 7 minutes of frantic stoppage time, marking Mo Salah at Anfield as Liverpool chase a winner and throw on 10 forwards.
I think most players would need some time to adjust.

Joyce the chef who the club have done a few articles about and featured on STID broke her leg a couple of years ago and Luke went round hers almost every other day just to bring her shopping and other bits and bobs
I know this as a fact as I know her son pretty well.
When I asked her son why Luke was doing it and not him he said it’s because he lives in Middlesbrough

Not ashamed to say i had a tear in my eye when Xhaka hugged him.
Don’t even know why. But to have seen O’nien come in 7 years ago and just get it, and come to typify the club.. and now Xhaka (who could have been at a bigger club if he wanted) do exactly the same and clearly appreciate just how much that meant tonight for
to make his PL debut, it’s magical.
