Keel Crossing [opened 18.10.25] - compendium thread

Why dont you eat out @Dave Herbal ?
It’s never been something we do. Whenever I get together with friends we all prefer drinking. If I had £100 I’d rather spend it getting on the piss for 12 hours and having a laugh than spending it on a meal for a couple of hours then going home stuffed and falling asleep. I’m just not interested in food enough for that. I’d see it as a waste of money.

What's wrong with the beer choices? They seem to have something for everyone
It's not bad, but there's not much to differentiate it from a standard bar in town tbf. It's a bit of a letdown on that front as the main bar was pitched as something of a taproom. Expensive as well though you expect that in a venue like this.

I agree generally (though if Freddy's stays on I'm happy). But the poster calling it 'not good' seems a bit harsh.

If you went in a few weeks back you'd probably think it was a bit shit tbf. There was no Vaux on and only one non-mass produced beer (something from Wylam). Hopefully those days are done and they can keep a few independent beers on tap at all times.

My first complaint, on the northern side of the bridge the drainage system is deep meaning it's a nightmare for cycling.
 You've done nowt but complain, man.

Yeah I went in September and the selection was rubbish.

Different complaint now it's open.
Also, no bins so it was littered with rubbish at 5pm last night.

Lights looked great on it though.

Fairy muff Dave.Try grabbing a slice or pie from the Sheepfolds THEN walk across the bridge.

That is a very, very sad existence. If you need to spend that on alcohol to `get a laugh`, you may want to reconsider the consequences in the long term!

That's the time me and my wife walked over the bridge yesterday, McDonald's cartons, Greggs bags just thrown on the floor. Shocking.

Not sure I understand how it works as a cycling route (unless they are planning to add some surface markings) - there is no segregation from pedestrians and it is likely to cause problems if people are cycling over and mingling with pedestrians.
