Keel Crossing [opened 18.10.25] - compendium thread

They won't all be crossing the bridge and won't all be doing it at the same time.
As long as the people fannying about with flags are finished by the time I get there, I don't have any concerns about being held up.
Good to know
It will be fine man...

There was a huge parade that crossed for the rugby that included hundreds of others who'd tagged along.....it will of course be busy but also safe....
Risk assessment
Complete and approved

Hopefully a lot of people use the extra time it has generated to stay in the pub a bit longer.
We'll leave the town at 2.30 like usual.

48,000 at the match , how many come from the south side of the river... Maybe 30,000 or more ?

That's a lot of people to get across a footbridge in an hour
There will be a lot using the town bridge.

There were food outlets on the town side of the bridge for us rugger types in August. It was really good. I hope the council encourages the same sort of thing every match day.

Be amazing if we get some more varied food truck offerings too. Burger vans have their place, but street food these days is so much better than it was 10 years ago.

Wood fired pizza, Mexican, bao buns etc.

Bearing in mind all the cuts to council budgets it remarkable what’s been achieved
Although some will say how come before the cuts not even half of this was achieved

Cyclists don’t take any notice

The cycle lane on the town bridge isn’t really a cycle lane. Is a ripped up bit of tarmac that people just walk on anyway.

The cycle lane down the beach gets a lot of use.
