Dinnar - need to see him play more first. He has 17 Netherlands appearances so must have something about him. On paper you would think he'd be an upgrade on Hume.

Thing is we've picked 23.

But we dont include Rigg, Diarra, Sadiki, Talbi cos they're counted as U21 and so can play but dont need to be in squad list. As are Jones and abdullhai who might get a game in an emergency

To get from 23 to 25 we'd have had to pick Poveda, Ba, Pembele but doesnt seem to be any point in that as they'll never play

Or the adaptability of Geertuida may mean we want to keep him.

Lets see what he’s like when he gets to start a game.

Like Mukiele, when this lad gets his chance I think he’ll be hard to dislodge

My comment certainly wasn’t a slight on Gertruida. I’ve no doubt he’s quality. Just that there’s only so many players we can have in the squad really.

Could be the plan, which would mean we want to have two CB's extremely good with the ball and build from the back (the new Barcelona of the North 😂). On the other hand Lucumi isn't that great in the air and we'll lose our aerial strenght when defending. We need to trust the plan. Personally I would like to see a ridiculously highly rated winger before anything else .

I’d say as a back line it’s stronger in the air (certainly no worse) than

Hume Mukiele Alderete Reinildo

As a back line, yes. But most of the high balls will be fought between opposite strikers and our CB's.
On a side note, I like the fact that our CB's are all at the perfect age, between 26 and 28, still young for CB's but also experienced enough, we don't have kids or old guys in there.
