I’m baffled. Maybe he’s trying to match the runner rather than them both marking Watkins. Then he drops in. But he hasn’t done anything convincingly. Decent enough passer perhaps.
 
Not watching tonight but watched highlights of one of their recent matches and he got caught too far forward and tried to get back and conceded a penalty. He's either going through bad form/pissed off with not getting the transfer or he's just poor.

Having said that if he was always this shit then Bologna would have snapped our hands off.

I put Slow Horses then The Sweeney on at HT.
He was half asleep after about ten mins when Villa strolled down his side, he wasn’t even watching when the short corner that led to Villas first half goal was taken, he made a ridiculous cross field pass straight to Villa after about 30 mins that could’ve easily resulted in a Villa goal…….but apart from that he was shaky.
He can’t normally be that bad as Bologna wouldn’t have signed him and certainly would’ve sold him to us or to anyone long before we bid for him.

Ok if he’s as bad as some on here are saying then how come the recruitment team seemingly got it so right with other defenders Alderete,Mukiele(even Reinildo bar a bit of stupidity).Maybe he just had an off night🤷‍♂️

Some on here as saying how bad he was last night not how bad he is. Unlike SAFC we’ve not scouted him extensively or had access to his data over a longer period.
He was ropey in the first half which as mentioned is all I personally watched. At least one other poster mentions that can’t normally be this bad and a few speculate that he’s deliberately driving down his value :lol:

Watched the match for the sole purpose of big Jhon. It looked like he was tasked with Morgan Rodgers, probably meant to step up a bit when Rodgers dropped off. Took it too far early on and was following him all over, better after the break presumably after clearer instructions. First time I have seen him and apart from when he got to Malen's and picked his pocket was average. Difficult to judge on one performance and he did seem disinterested but was not impressed. Given his age and the performances of the new lads so far, there must be younger and cheaper options available as third / fourth choice to develop. Cannot fault the recruitment team so if they want him, he and they will have my full support.

It is not as simple as having a first choice back 4. If Reinildo’s replacement does well I would not be surprised to see him stuck on the bench when he completes his stupid suspension.

Rigg is just about to be properly introduced to the Prem. It is wait and see time. He may struggle but he may nick Diarra’s place in the team.😉
