Diarra out till December

Not that they'd be starting games so it doesn't really matter, but the cohort of players who were injured prior to the season beginning (O'Nien, Cirkin etc) we were told would be back after the first international break are nowhere to be seen either. Again it doesn't really matter but it's another example of inaccurate timelines.

Mundle last season missed 14 weeks for an injury that we were consistently told would have him out for 6.

I'll get the "things change" replies but there's a common theme whereby we seem to be unable to properly diagnose injuries, or prevent them from occuring. Sorry like but it's an absolute nonsense that players are doing anything that could result in a muscle injury in a training session the DAY before a game FFS.

These posts are so frustrating. Instead of posting on here, you could be helping the club out with your expertise and suggestions. Our players would be healthy and match fit, as well as the club learning new practices.

If you're not going to reach out to them, then I hope they're at least noticing your posts.

Using your logic, no one on here should be posting about football as none of us are professional footballers.

What is it with Sunderland and injuries!!
Going to miss him as need points on the board before AFCON!

He missed 3 games due to injury last season, 1 game the season before that, and 3 the season before that.

He's here a few weeks and will already have missed more games for Sunderland than he has in his entire career combined prior to joining us.

Unreal.

The new Alan Browne
But you genuinely appear to have knowledge on preventing injuries and maintaining fitness, considering your posts. Share it.
No fitness knowledge from me but his point about timelines is right. Ours are absolutely bizarre, we regularly go well over the expected return date

You'd think it was just our club that had injury problems

I'm not sure what the issue is. If they are injured they will play again when they are fit. If the clubs best estimate is December than great - if it takes til after AFCON then there not much we can do about it. Its hardly worth getting chewed up about.

I'm sure fans from other clubs say exactly the same thing.

Unfortunately, injuries are a part of football and often the human body doesn't comply to estimated timeframes. If clubs stop giving estimates, they would be getting shit for that too.

Yes I have no idea whether other teams miss their xTimeOut as much as us. Just that we do it a lot
