Boro thread

Much poorer league than last season they have a chance. As worked in Boro for years few Boro supporting mates they where thinking anywhere from 8 to 12th at the start of the season.

Not one has them making the playoffs could end up having a similar season to us last year.

Match was very poor last bar their second well worked goal. They look hard to breakdown and the 3 relegated sides not started great.
Two average teams last night, the play off places probably the best either club could hope for.

Good.

But just to be clear you said,

'We have a recruitment team that seem pretty capable of doing their jobs.'

'Your European staff and contacts haven't proved themselves to have made the right calls'

Weve played 4 games and after last night you 6.

Either a few games is enough time to make judgements or not, but can't be both, subjectively or objectively cause thats a contradiction.
Not another one.🤷
Yes, it is only a few games, which is why I said our recruitment team SEEM capable ( they've also managed pretty well the last couple of years).
Similarly, I did say that you seem to be showing ambition but (rightly) it's only early days and your policy has not been proven to be correct - it is still.possible you could end up in the bottom three.

All this because one of YOUR supporters made out that we don't have the staff or contacts to bring in similar players to you.
I merely pointed out that people don't know what 'contacts' SG or our recruitment team have, or indeed if your policy is going to work, long term.

You think your recruitment has been pretty good the last couple.of years😂
Boro 😂

I had no idea Rogers used to play for you lot.🤷🤣. He will go for big money in a year or two.
I don't think you'll manage it, but fwiw, I'd like to see Boro in the PL ( 6 easy points obvly😜) with us.
If you're still there 😜.
Have to see what happens - still very early days but we (almost) couldn't have asked for a better start

The Boro lads will be gutted if they go up. They'll have to buy new players which they see as soulless. Plus you lose loads of games in the PL so will get laughed at etc. Spunking millions on players just to come back down.

We've made an excellent start.

Feels like we got the balance right in terms of the summer recruitment. We signed good experienced Championship players in Callum Brittain and Alfie Jones, Nypan who is such an exciting prospect, and Strelec, who got his first goal last night and is an absolute beast.

In Aidan Morris and Hackney I genuinely think we've got the best midfield in the division.

Still early days but Edwards has already won many fans over and given us reason to feel optimistic.

People used to come up with all sorts of shit about whether the league was good or bad when we were in it. It was bollocks then. It’s bollocks now. It’s the 21st to 44th best teams in the country. It’s been that for a couple of decades. It’s much the same every year. Maybe getting slightly better year on your because we get more good foreigners in. Their fans were giving us shit last year on the basis it was a poor league. We can try to give them shit this year on the basis it’s a poor league. Reality is, it’s the second tier, and it’s as good as it always is.

I dislike Boro more than most because I grew up in an interface area with them, rather than with the mags. But they look decent this season. And to be honest, as long as we’re in the top flight, I’d as soon see them there with us.

Im surprised they’re celebrating mind. They told us it’s soulless going up and ripping the team apart and just to lose every week in the top league.

Or was that them being bitter?
Are, and “it’s a long old season, you’ll be back in miserable by Christmas” etc etc etc.

Momentum is everything, their start is like ours last year so it could well establish them on the top 6. I just don’t think they’ll be top two, but who knows.
