He only turned 18 a couple of months ago ago for Christ sake

I'm aware of that. It's not really what's been debated though is it?

Given allowances for ages shouldn't get him a run of games, nor can you really assess his 'ceiling' on games in youths when it's not yet transferred regularly to senior level.
B

But It isn’t true. A 17 year old having a dip while playing loads of football is totally normal. He does not need to show people he has potential

He needs to show people he's got the potential to play PL otherwise he shouldn't get games. He's not done much at all for a helluva long time.

There's having a dip in form and there's doing very little for over half a season.

Too ma y have bought into the "generational talent " rhetoric and haven't been watching.

Rigg will go on to be a £25million plus player, something Cirkin will get no where near, Rigg also has played a lot more games in the championship than Cirkin over the past two seasons so how can his consistency be questioned, he was an integral part of a team promoted from the championship his argument is flawed.
This is completely irrelevant, It's got nothing to do with the debate I was having around how career to date.

Cirkin has continuously played Championship football when he hasn't been injured for three seasons, If he's been fit, he's played. Rigg has had one full Championship season. (of which started really brightly, then faded and we are where we are, now)

He is, but what @Perryqhill posted is true.

I love Rigg, I think he could end up being really top class but he hasn't really consistently put performances together. There was a spell at the start of maybe last season I think (where he scored the backheel goal) and he was looking special, but he had a few injuries, form dipped & never consistently got going again.

Cirkin was a main stay left back when he wasn't injured.
He made 42 appearances last season , not sure what injuries you are referring to

He isn't anywhere close to it. Cirkin has had injury problems often in his time here and he saw a drop off of form last season as did the entire squad. But Dennis could easily hold his own in the championship and has done that - Rigg hasn't even come close yet.

In fact its got to the stage where outside the young England sides Rigg really needs to show people he has potential again.
 christ.

Potential to play in a PL side, despite showing precious little since early last season?

Christ indeed.
Rigg will get one or two opportunities from the bench and we will soon find out if he is ready to compete at this new level. Wait and see what happens. RLB will not play him to the detriment of the team in the Prem, though maybe he did in the Champo when Rigg was struggling.

How can you simply look at the games played and suggest its based on consistency?

It's been done largely to progress him and Improve his value. He largely.played as a sub the season before last and last season showed little consistency or quality for the best part of half a season.

Anyone who thinks he's been consistent over that period needs to take up watching another sport.

In terms of minutes, Rigg played more but only by a few games. Wasn't a lot more

Yes he probably will, hes still being fed in slowely. Am I allowed to say he needs to show he's got the potential to improve further when given that time to gain him more opportunities?

Because its pretty much what I said earlier and what you've just said, but seemingly one or two have taken offence.

4 to 5 i think in terms of minutes.

Though if the original call was by me and was about Cirkin being more proven at championship level you have to wonder why he's only picked the last two seasons instead of the last three and not considered the fact Cirkin has played an extra season at that level 😃

He missed three consecutive games against Stoke, Sheffield & Portsmouth. He also only played a handful of minutes against Cardiff, Plymouth, Sheffield Wednesday, Preston and Blackburn. He didn't start in any of the play-off games either.

All I am saying is Rigg has huge ability, but he hasn't put together consecutive performances for quite some time now. Cirkin, when fit, has been pretty much a main stay in our 11 for the last three years.

Rigg started in the playoff final
