Yeh,realistically I see very little to be positive about in the overall picture. McKinney the exception but nailed on relegation candidates is a gloomy picture.

If Yorkshire (and even Hampshire) lose a low scoring one this week then a draw with a decent number of bonus points wouldn't be the end of the world. Could potentially put us 3/4 points behind Yorkshire.Would people be willing to take 5 bonus points and a draw given the chance now?
Exactly this … 2 batsmen contribute 210 runs , 6 others 50. It’s been the same all season…. Not enough players performing per innings with either bat or ballI'm on the fence don't know what to think. However I'm standing by my view about just 1 or 2 only ever contributing at the top, that needs to be better. Hopefully we go well tomorrow
I'm less concerned about the batting than I am with the bowling. It seems the only dependable bowler we have is Raine! Before this season you could have added Potts to that list of one, except that he's always disappearing off to the England set up.Exactly this … 2 batsmen contribute 210 runs , 6 others 50. It’s bizarre that Clark opens forT20 but bats at 7 in the CC333 all out and one of our few in form batsmen left stranded on 30 odd whilst batting at 7.
Looks 120 short at least to me.
Did he say anything about his shoulder or him playing any more Championship cricket this year? Would be a handy addition but I doubt he has recovered sufficiently from injury (they said 6-10 weeks at the time)The coach was on bbc this morning re stokes
Written Interview is in the bench stokes threadDid he say anything about his shoulder or him playing any more Championship cricket this year? Would be a handy addition but I doubt he has recovered sufficiently from injury (they said 6-10 weeks at the time)
Plus I would think Stokes would take one look at him, see straight through him and decide he needs more rest before the Ashes...

We definitely will end up 120 short which we would have achieved easily if we had not thrown our wickets away and kept with the pre lunch run rate
Right lads get stuck in
I was leaning more towards wanting a Hampshire loss as they have Somerset and Surrey to play compared to Sussex who have Yorkshire and Worcs, but in any event a loss for one of them will be good news for us if we can get a draw here.Sussex rolled for 122, meaning if Hampshire win Sussex will only take 3 points from the game which takes them 16 ahead of us. A draw with full bowling bonus points moves us to within 3 of them.
He said Stokes will be fit for the Ashes but didn't suggest he would play for Durham this season. He did say Wood is close to playing and could be in contention next week.Did he say anything about his shoulder or him playing any more Championship cricket this year? Yea, that's the dilemma. Wonder if he can play seconds.I'd like to see Wood playing. Might be a bit rusty though.
