Patrick Roberts to Birmingham compendium

Im genuinely dumbfounded with the outpouring of love for Patrick Roberts.

He has looked good when he played with Amad, possibly the player with the highest ceiling to ever play for Sunderland.

The rest of the time hes been bang average at best. Very little output.

Yet you all nosh each other off over him twinkle toesing round the odd player

His game against Huddersfield was typical of his entire time at the club. Losing possession, turning and working hard to retrieve the ball.

Like a dog chasing a balloon. Slow, cant shoot, cant cross. Shite
No one cares what you think
Paddy’s popularity amongst the fans is plain to see

Credit where it’s due here.

You’ve picked your hill to die on and are defending it to the last bullet.

It’s making Custers Last Stand look like a picnic. ;)

I still think he could be useful this season. Don't forget we are losing a bunch to AFCON and as a sub he can make a difference. Not goals obviously but he gets a lot of assists

Don’t constantly scan moves , seen that a few mins ago , sorry to see him go if it happens , happy if he stays .

I love Paddy, he's been class for us on our return to the EPL, but realistically I think he's come as far as he can with us.
He was frustrating sometimes in the Championship with his end product, we can't just pretend fans weren't calling him out on here about it last season. A move to a Championship club, where he's guaranteed more minutes makes sense for him personally. He'll want to play as much as possible, and with us he's always going to be a backup to others now.

From a numbers perspective, I do hope we're trying to get another wing option in to cover but we need someone who's a level above Paddy who can also offer solid competition for the starting 11 spot in the PL.

Also think Roberts end product was mostly poor last season then he seemed a totally different player Vs Sheffield utd

That’s Roberts in a nutshell tbh, he can be brilliant at times but very frustrating at other times.

As has been said before if he was brilliant every week he’d have never been here in the first place but I will always like him and wish him well whether it’s with us or if he moves on.

I know this sounds mental but I’m actually sadder about Roberts leaving than Jobe

Doesn't sound mental. Sounds entirely illogical for the best for the club, but as for endearment I understand why people took to him more.

If he goes, I'll wish him all the very best, its probably a good time. Always tried his best and will deservedly have a better after thought than the likes of Pritchard.
