Marc Guiu - Boomerang Transfer confirmed

I'm sure if we'd seen enough in training that he was going to become first choice sooner rather than later then we'd have kept hold of him and sure we're confident of finding a replacement.

Finding a striker is something we've consistently struggled with so interested to see what business we can get done.

Think they must be giving us something in return and I also don’t think he’d go unless we’ve a replacement close. Brobbey seems to be close

Guiu prob wants to go back and stake a claim for the Chelsea spot - no point keeping an unhappy player. He will prob only play until Nov then go back down the pecking order, and go out on loan in Jan.

I hope we have a player coming in to take his spot (Openda 🤞), and have negotiated a favourable deal with Chelsea for any future wonderkid who they send on loan, or first refusal or something.

As long as we get someone in, I'm not convinced that this will be a massive loss.
Not really gonna judge him on a couple of games, but remember thinking at the time that he didn't seem to be giving a lot of effort on Saturday when he came on. Didn't seem to be busting a gut to get back and help defend or close down as most of the others had been.
But maybe that was him still trying to get up to speed with what he needs to do in this league.

Probably hasn’t shown enough in training to suggest he’s going to be anything more than 3rd choice here. We are looking for a different profile of striker who can come in and and put some pressure on Mayenda and Isidor. Sounds like a move that suites all parties, providing he’s replaced!

You're talking like it was our idea. Chelsea want him back and have probably coughed up a few quid as a sweetener. Doesn't do us any favours at all, as it adds another type of player onto the wanted list with not a lot of time to get things sorted

I just think the player asked Chelsea to take him back. If he was happy here he would have said so. Could be some issues with leaving London? I'm just speculating but it seems really weird to me.
I think that will only be the case if Chelsea have told him first he’d go back & get some minutes immediately. Chelsea’s gained financially from loaning him to us & sounds like they’re going to compensate us financially to get him back. They’ll not be doing that cos he’s not fancied it after a couple of matches.
