Marc Guiu - Boomerang Transfer confirmed

Wasn't really impressed by him in the cup and when he came off the bench against Burnley and Brentford. Hopefully weve got another striker lined up 🤞
Wouldn't bank on it. Just about everyone we've been linked with has either signed somewhere already or in the process of. If we do get anyone in it'll probably be someone we've not seen any links to. Ta Chelsea you tossers

If I've understood correctly, as there was no recall clause we've had to agree on this with Chelsea rather than it being forced onto us. So this means either we didn't like what we saw in training all happy to send back (unlikely), we agreed something silly as a penalty clause that's too good to say no to, or we think we'll be alright without him (meaning hopefully at least one striker tomorrow).

Hoping it's a bit of 2 and a lot of 3.

It feels risky right now with only Wilson and Mayenda as forwards, but trust the club know what they're doing here and aren't taking too big a gamble.

It's possible but as this only dropped on our toes a few hours ago we'll have a list to work through but it may be a tad fanciful to think we were involved in negotiations for a specialist centre forward from elsewhere. Regis has said we were interested in someone who could slot in across the front three so if we're still in the hunt for a specialist centre forward I'd guess at best we're now involved in a scramble.

It'll have been Guiu asking to go back and us not wanting to stop him and keep an unhappy player. He's going to play games for Chelsea of course he wants to go back. I can't imagine we were thinking about replacing him this year so hopefully the next couple on the short list are just as promising

Aye true, hadn't considered that he'd be pushing for it too. Although if he goes back, and Palmer and Delap recover well and are back in a month or two, then he could quickly be 4th choice again after barely 5 or 6 matches.

Either way, not our issue now, let's hope we see some exciting incoming tomorrow.

Just wondering if anyone knows the financial side of recalling a loan player. Did we pay Chelsea a loan fee? Do we get this back? Etc..
Sort of depends. Id imagine any fee we put down they will waive. And if anything give us a fee for the disruption

As we didn't have to agree to send him back I would think it is a strong likelihood that we were paid handsomely for our co-operation, and/or another player will be loaned to us tomorrow at a cut price

I would think the player himself was a part of this. Maybe he didn't fancy being third choice here and even fourth choice if we pushed for another forward. Other posters mentioned Danns and that could be a good back up plan. Also if Chelsea have any other players we could be interested in. If we don't get anyone we will look like dicks though!

I think we need to consider maybe we want to keep sweet with Chelsea and build some quid pro quo for future. Not as if guiu is some established striker in his mid 20’s who was to be our key striker.
They have a huge squad ( and will continue to have ) and am sure if we scratch their back etc etc.
Somewhat ironic all the posturing, moaning about him going back when there has been disquiet over his youth, inexperience etc etc.
Some people are never happy
