Wissa Statement

Exactly. If his agent has got something in writing, and it doesn't include a stated fee, then that's on him (the agent). After all, reasonable is subjective. What Brentford might have considered reasonable at the time might not be considered reasonable when they've already lost Mbuemo and haven't got replacements lined up. Losing Wissa now could relegate them and cost them hundreds of millions, of course they won't let him go cheap at this stage
Same for Wolves losing Cunha and only leaving Strand Larsen as Wolves next highest scoring striker got just 2 last season.

How about players don’t have contracts anymore and only get a flat rate of pay when the y play. No bonuses, no signing on fee or anything just a flat wage. That might stop these players from acting the way they are. Yes the football world revolves around d players wanting to better themselves be it sporting or financial but they have to do it the right way, shows what fans are thought of doesn’t it.

To be fair, clubs will often be pushing players to sign a 5 year deal so that they can spread the transfer fee over 5 years for PSR. IF it's true that Wissa has a written agreement from the club that he can leave and the conditions of that have been met, then I'd agree it's a different situation to Isak. But obviously we're unlikely to ever know what was in the agreement, if it exists
If it were they’d have the club over a barrel. If it’s written in the contract and all conditions met he’d have been away by now. Brentford are a well run club hence they’ve made it from what league two to being an established premier club for the past few seasons. There’s no chance if it’s in writing in his contract and it’s all been met are they just ignoring that.

They'd just leave if they got a higher wage offer somewhere else

Very different circumstances

Obviously

Their fan base are absolutely frightening mind. Premier league corrupt as fuck but casually spending over 200m in a single window. Victim mentality. I cannot stand the *****.
‘Very different circumstances’.

Aye, one wants to leave them and the other wants to join them. That’s the difference.

If he’s got it in writing, then him and his agent are idiots.

‘Reasonable’ is open to interpretation
If he had it in in writing they wouldn’t be posting statements like a couple on the verge of joint Facebook account
Just to push the Newcastle hatred a bit further.

It wouldn’t surprise me if someone has been in his ear from Newcastle pushing him to do this.

If you only want to play for Brentford for 4 years, you sign a 4 year contract. Simples...

Ohhhh, you wanted to bag a sign on fee of a longer contract...
It isn’t as simple as that. When players have a contract they have a transfer value that the selling club needs. Contract ends and they have no value, the clubs need to move players on and get some value for them

If it was in writing he’d have gone weeks ago. It clearly isn’t or the player’s representatives would have been waving legal challenges at them ages ago. It’s either not in writing at all or isn’t written with any clear wording. Something like a fair fee etc that’s all open to interpretation.
