Patrick Roberts to Birmingham compendium

That 2nd half he was regularly setting up team mates in good positions but no one was good enough to finish the move. Probablys our best player attacking wise in 2nd half from what i watched. More concerned with rigg, giui, isidor, le fee. They all created fuck all against 3rd tier opposition

Did you go to the game

Yes, I did go to the game. Did you?

Just checked his stats and his pass completion was circa 88%. Not bad at all.

What was your opinion on his end product

Well he didn't score if that's what you mean but he did have 2 key passes which could have resulted in a goal had the player he played in converted.

To suggest he's awful is total nonsense. He was one of the bright sparks throughout the game, as was Isidor until he was subbed.

To be honest I still think he’s a decent option off the bench but he keeps the ball too long then gives it away.
If he could keep it simple and pass it quicker he’d be ok.

His end product for an attacking player is mainly let's be polite average

It was way better that the other attackers. Put at least3 chances on a plate 2nd half for our players and they all fluffed it. Le fee/isidor/rigg offered way less yet they are thought of in far higher regard than pat.

Is there a thread for le fee or wilson or rigg for lack of quality last night on 1st page cos it should be far busier than this thread

He’s been a great servant and hope he finds another club where he is happy at, and can finish his career there. Unfortunately that isn’t with us in my humble opinion. We need
and have moved on now we are in the premier league,
and if the worst happens and we are relegated his time is up regardless. Assists and goals are fundamental to forward players, unfortunately for all his skill this is never going to happen for him or us. Surely a decent mid table championship club would suit him, and he them. Nothing against him,in fact have enjoyed lots of his skills however it’s time for us and him to part ways.

Perhaps, but for a player who overall has been very exciting to watch and a good signing considering he was signed on a free, I don't understand why a supporter would create a thread calling the lad awful.

He's never hid, he always shows for the ball and had the guts to take a penalty when others clearly didn't have the bottle for it. I think the criticism is uncalled for.

Wilson was top scorer in a team that got promoted

At present, getting rid of Roberts wouldn't make any sense whatsoever unless we bring in a better player, which currently we do not have.

Just don't think he played that well and for an attacking player he should do better

I thought Isidor was good. I thought Le Fee grew into the game when he was moved from the wing to a central position.

I think Rigg wasn't up to speed, but perhaps a little behind on preparation considering he was injured partly during pre season. He didn't stop trying mind, but had a poor game for his standards.
Roberts was good in second half and should have played on the right where he normally plays from the start. Good effort and good attitude and his penalty was spot on. He was one of the better players in a disappointing display.

Good point, he started out of position. He's played as an inverted winger here probably in 99% of the games he's played for us.

Whats that got to do with last night?

Pat isnt a 1st teamer in prem yet looked more dangerous than le fee, wilson & guiu (however the fuck you spell it). Imo pat has a role to play in prem squad.

He put 2 or 3 clear cut chances on a plate 2nd half aswell as regular bits of creativity to create opportunities. Had those 2 or 3 chances been converted pat wins motm and this thread doesnt exist.

Maybe he should cross the ball high enough, run into box and nod the fucker in himself

Against 3rd tier opposition i dont think anyone other that roberts hurt them 2nd half. We just looked weak as piss in attack. Roberts delivered his bit

I quite enjoyed the second half despite the lack of goals. I thought we were right into them, I was surprised we didn't break them down sooner. Huddersfield played out of their skins tbf.

But he doesn’t impact?!

nowhere near good enough to be coming off the bench.. and that can be said for most of them.

He didn’t even impact the game against Huddersfield.
We’re desperate for more forward players. The creativity in this team is non existent which is what it was like last near the end of last year.

We need some wingers who are pacey, direct and can cross the ball by getting down the line
That’s our game plan tho, hard to beat and hope for a moment or two, we will never be expansive
